Nine Mary's has instantly become the darling of Restaurant critics. Some hail it as setting a new benchmark in modern eating (West Australian May 2004) others see it as a coming of age in Indian food (Sunday Times May 2004.) No matter, the office fraternity have given it a huge thumbs up as the new lunch favorite and certainly Friday and Saturday nights are extremely busy with many making it the night's social activity.

However if it is superb traditional Indian food that you are desiring this is for you. Master of the kitchen Sid Grewal has been in the industry all his working life. Always working only with Indian chefs, Sid is constantly experimenting with new ingredients but always with the reverence of his birth rite.

The menu was very limited. How hard can it be to have on offer a small bowl of fresh salad to accompany your meal? The rice was served in open ceramic bowls which meant it got cold too quickly. The serves of curry were quite small. The Naan bread was quite nice though. I wouldn't bother with this place unless I was a city worker looking for an after work drink. Won't be back.   (personinperth - September, 2010)

We visited 9 Marys on Saturday night excited about trying the restaurant after their recent renovations. Earlier in the day I went on the internet to look at the menu but when we arrived the menu was a lot smaller and a lot more expensive than advertised. We nearly left when we saw the prices but decided to stay as we where all very hungry. We ordered four main meal sized curries for $30 each and was surprised when we had to pay $5 extra per person for rice. When the food came we had to laugh. The main meals where all served in bowls the size of my fist. Three of the four meals where tasty but the chicken korma tasted like cauliflower cheese and was nearly cold. We left hungry and disappointed. I will not go there again.

The price guide above is inaccurate!   (Food Lover - July, 2010)

went here on Friday night, had no booking so were lucky to get a table as the place filled up pretty quickly. We were taken to our table, by very efficient and friendly waiting staff. The place was run like a well oiled machine. Food took a little long to arrive.... by mistake we ended up with the goat curry which I was not brave enough to try but my husband could not stop raven about.. according to him best dish on our table.. The decor is very funky and modern the place was clean, so were the rest rooms....

Overall yes comes with recommendation if your looking for some good Indian food in the city.   (spiritednurse - See my reviews (4) - August, 2008)

Overall a plesant experience with an excellent signature dish of Goat Curry. Ideal for a pre theatre dinner, efficient service that responded to our need and a moderatly priced menu. Thank you: John & Miriam Langridge   (June, 2008)
