Caught the CityCat down to Bulimba and had a meal here. Hadn't been to a Turksih restaurant before, choice of food interesting, food very tasty and good quantities. Really relaxed atmosphere.   (rxp - See my reviews (3) - November, 2007)

I have meant for some time to take the Citycat out of the CBD to dine at Ahmet's Bulimba. On albeit infrequent visits to Bulimba, Ahmet's has always caught my eye because it looks so inviting. However having taken the time out to satisfy my curiosty at last, the overall experience did not live up to my not unreasonable expectations. I have no complaints about the food, which was flavoursome, but the service was not good at all. It was a Sunday night & the restaurant was quiet so it's not as though the waiting staff were rushed off their feet. On arrival a drinks order that was taken by one member of staff didn't arrive. It was quite some time later that someone else came to take our food order & we pointed out that we still short of our drinks. These were eventually delivered by the former with no acknowledgement or apology. The service improved none through the course of the evening & it was difficult to raise the attention of staff. It's interesting to note from previous reviews that service seems to have taken a nose dive literally in the last couple of months. Bad timing on my part...??? Maybe, but enough to put me off venturing out of the city for a repeat performance...   (Blodwen - September, 2007)

food was great but service was a bit slow and not very cheerful. coffee was cold when it finally arrived   (August, 2007)

Very good. Would go again. Though management might want to welcome new diners personally, while explaining maybe some finer points of their restaurant. Just to add to its ambience. Add abit of turkishness to the experience.   (May, 2007)

The Grill Platter for two was brilliant - all of Ahmets delicacies; kebabs, quail, chicken, lamb, etc was on one huge platter with veggies, rice, bread, etc... It was meant to be for two but we shared it among four, it was that large! So not only it's tasty but it's also excellent value for money.   (Sweetpurplerose - February, 2007)

"Featuring recipes handed down through generations, the menu is tasty and traditional. The Middle Eastern atmosphere is enhanced by Persian rugs, kilims and belly dancers on Friday and Saturday nights. The meze is extensive and the banquets are ideal for groups. Kids are also catered for at Brisbane's Best Themed Restaurant 2005 - Bulimba restaurant."

Kylie Lang, Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2006 - September 2006
"Turkish food is about much nore than kebabs, and Ahmets has got the menu to prove it, serving deliciously traditional food like the mixed mezze platter or range of dips to share. Make yourself comfortable on cosy bench-style seating, take in the exotic tapestry wall hangings and settle in for a true Turkish feast."
