The fish was dry and 'off', desert was made in a sloppy manner, staff were rude, and the experience as a whole was a rip off. Views were nice.   (August, 2008)

We enjoyed a lovely evening, the staff were attentive as well as informative and I am still reminiscing the taste of the Chef's signature dish.   (April, 2008)

Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10

We take client's to a variety of restaurants and Alchemy is always a winner. By far the best restaurant in Brisbane for food, service and vista.   (April, 2008)

Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10

What a great restaurant. I've been to a couple of functions and it's great. Even Ben Lee was at the restaurant. Food Service everything is tops. Watch out Melb and Sydney,   (Matt - March, 2008)

It's just the best   (March, 2008)

Overall 9.5 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 8, Service 10

An overall pleasant dinning experience, although prices were a little higher than we usually pay, we would put this down as a restaurant we would visit for special occasions not regular dinning.   (February, 2008)

Overall 9 - Food 9, Ambience 9, Value 9, Service 9

Wow what a night. This place is excellent. It's about time Brisbane had a restaurant that can beat down south establishments.   (Ann - January, 2008)

Overall 8.3 - Food 9, Ambience 8, Value 7, Service 9

Thank you, Thank you for a delightful evening! The only shadow on the evening was the 50 minute wait we had when we first got there. I had phoned earlier in the day to confirm our 8.30pm booking and we were not seated til 9.20pm. Having said that, the food was excellent, the service was excellent and overall, it was a fabulous night.

Cheers

Our Waiter looked after us with exceptional attention to detail, by treating us to a complementary desert as we were celebrating a special occasion. We were seated with an outlook to the river. Perfect for a little romance after 20 yrs!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.   (See my reviews (2) - June, 2007)

Finally, another restaurant in Brisbane that is doing great food using seasonal produce with skill and flair. With staff that were professional and knowledgeable rather than sulky and rude we had a great night and look forward to eating their again to try out other dishes on the menu.   (March, 2007)

"It's glam and has one of Brisbane's best water views...As well as the traditional a la carte menu, you can sit up at the bar and soak up the ambience for a fraction of the price..."

Natascha Mirosch, Courier Mail - May 2008
"Overlooking the Brisbane River and the curves of the Story Bridge, this stylish newcomer to the business end of the CBD has been designed to dazzle. White tables are bare beneath and Murano glass chandeliers, floors and timber and doors peel back to beckon the view..."

Anthea Loucas, Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide - November 2007
"This modern dining space is perched above the boardwalk, giving uninterrupted views of the river and Story Bridge..."

N/A, Brisbane News - August 2007
"Alchemy's design is postmodern chic, rather austere except for a clunking great red thing hanging from the ceiling... Alchemy is food theatre at its best..."

Des Houghton, Gourier Mail - February 2007
"...it's exceedingly good, and his menu brings a welcome touch of adventure and imagination to the highly successful, but at the same time quite predictable, run of Eagle Street riverside restaurants...The service we experienced was spot on, with just the right amount of chatter and neat adeptness when it came to the mechanics of waiting...Overall, Alchemy is a seriously good venue with exceptional food and an incredibly good position..."

Tonny Harper, Brisbane News - February 2007
"A modern decor of deep green charcoal timber and stainless steel is offset by (a) striking hand blown murano glass chandelier in a vivid red which also match the shimmering red organza curtains dividing the dining room from the bar...a private room with seating for up to 40 is off to one side."

Lizzi Loel, Courier Mail - February 2007
"With a superb river location and an imaginative chef, discover an Aladdin's cave for gourmads in the heart of the city. Considering its gorgeous location, almost swimming in the river, I reckon their landlord might be the one practising the arcane arts. But whatever the rent, it's probably worth it. The restaurant is a true beauty, perched a smidgin above the board walk with a terrace and two dining rooms looking out to the view. Its recessed reach into subterranean space like an Aladdin's cave for gourmands. A really nice area is dedicated to a bar, and I've no doubt it will find favour as a Friday night hangout."
