    Almond Bar is a Middle Eastern restaurant/bar run by two sisters, Carol and Sharon Salloum. They decided that they wanted to bring the food they grew up with and the hospitality their culture has always known to Darlinghurst. This classy but very cosy and comfortable restaurant offers a great atmosphere, tasty cocktails, a modest wine list with authentic and excellent food.       I was surprised with the reviews until I saw they were from 2008 & 2009 - has the chef changed? My partner and I were there only last week and I have to say was most dissappointed. I read rave reviews and went with great anticipation - the decor and service was lovely and I was looking forward to a lovely meal. I am a great fan of middle east cuisine and sadly found this to be a poor cousin of all the other ones I have been to.   (miriamj - November, 2010)

      Absolutely wonderful, food fantastic service, presentation was impeccable. Nothing to fault here. Visiting from Tas, just a wonderful meal. We have some wonderful top restaurants here, but sadly no with authentic middle eastern flavours as this, we are missing out so badly.       A wonderful location for an evening dinner. Absolutely delicious food (compliments to the chef). The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service makes Almond bar a number one choice in Sydney for an evening out. Don't forget to try the almond pancakes.   (Traditional food to die for - August, 2008)

      I found this place by accident and am so glad I did. The staff were very friendly and professional. I absolutely loved the food and the recommendations were spot on. I'm glad someone finally created a lovely looking restaurant for this food. The prices are slightly higher than the Lebanese places we know but the atmosphere and service are worth it. I'll definitely be returning and taking my friends.   (July, 2008)
