This place needs a few lessons in customer service and inventory control. The service started out quite pleasant and started to go down hill rapidly once our second attempt at ordering failed due another menu item not being available. We had 4 people independantly waiting our table & at one point (after asking for a dessert item to be reserved only to have that given to someone else) a junior waiter told us our second request for dessert was going in the oven to which I said "We have not had our mains yet, I suggest they come first" Overall 8.3 - Food 9, Ambience 8, Value 8, Service 8

Where to start! It was a Thursday night not a Sunday afternoon. The floor staff were friendly enough, the kitchen staff unprofessional. Food was ordinary, timing off and a meal was sent back to the kitchen. We complained, asked for our bill and were charged for a drink we did not order. On leaving we were stared down by the head chef and he then followed us out of the restaurant, we thought maybe to apologize, he just walked away. We will not be back. Ordered four main and one entrée (requested to be served with the mains) 10 minutes later the waiter came back and told us there was a 40 minutes wait, we decided to order another entrée to keep the kids happy, some fried potato – asked to get the spicy sauce replaced by tomato sauce to suit the kids. 1. The potatoes (entrée) were served with the spicy sauce. 2. The next entrée was served well before the other main. 3.Three mains were served after more than one hour wait. 4. The forth main was served 20 minutes later. At this stage I asked them to take the plate out and not charge for it. They insisted to serve it to me and asked if I wanted a doggy bag, claiming “you have to understand it is Mother’s day”. At last I did not have to pay for the forth main (we had already split the food we got). 5. Kids woke up in the middle of the night thirsty because the food was so salt. Myself I was thirsty all evening after the visit and also next morning. Overall 4.3 - Food 5, Ambience 8, Value 3, Service 1
OMG.. I don't think I have ever ever had service this bad. The waiter, when we saw him, kept saying how hectic it was, though we arrived for a late lunch on a sunday afternoon. I have no idea how he would have coped a few hours earlier at 12:30 to 1pm. We were shown to a table that needed wiping down... we had to do that ourselves. After then sitting there for 15-20 mins we walked into the bar asking if we could order there. No,,,, apparently a waiter would come and 5 mins later they finally arrived to take our order (I was also suprised there was no locally brewed cider on the menu). Again after 15 to 20 mins we went back inside to see what had happened to our drinks and saw them sitting at the bar - who knows how long they'd been there... Probably another 15 mins later, 1 of our meals (the rissoles) arrived. Apparently a mix up had occurred with the pizza but it would be out in 5 mins.... ANOTHER 10 mins later a waiter came and asked how our meals were (my partner having almost finished his).. had to remind them we were still waiting on a pizza?? This finally arrived another 5 mins later. This place is overpriced, the menu is unnecessarily overcomplicated/gourmet and the service non-existent. Went here with my partner thinking i could get a nice apple cider and maybe a nice apple desert. i was WRONG. nothing apple in the place. and the lack of service then the heafty bill for a gormet pizza. Sigh, yet another Sydney chef moves to the countryside to open a restaurant. We have been there twice now and will NEVER go back given the shocking lack of service. It's a shame given the food is pretty decent, but being handed a HOT plate by the young lad with curls, burning my fingers and then he looking at me like I was insane as I dropped said very HOT plate onto the table is more than enough. Ordering items that NEVER show up, then you get billed for them is the final straw. MISS THIS ONE AT ALL COSTS! (spaminator - July, 2007) |
