| The food was very good, very fresh and tasty. The seafood soup was the best i've had, definitely recommend it for any seafood fan. Very quiet and cosy setup. While dim lights added to the atmosphere could do with a little more lighting. Service was prompt and polite. Will visit again soon! |

I have very mixed feelings about my visit to Balmain Bug.
It was very cold inside and I had my coat on all the time during the dinner.
Food was good although there wasn't much variety to choose from. Waiter forgot about our iced wine order with the dessert therefore we had a dessert and got to coffee without tasting the wine.
At the end when it came to paying I used my credit card and this got lost on the way from the counter to our table. I tell you it wasn't fun to see that the restaurant staff have no idea what happened to the card and in panick tried to hand to me card belonging to another patron.
Finally the card was found on the floor under the entrance door by my fiance. It occured that the waiter dropped the card on his way to our table.
Yes, I think that the food was good but after my experience I don't think that I am going to visit this restaurant again. |

| Had a very nice evening at Balmain Bug. Was highly recommended by to me and i wasn't disappointed. The Scottish man who looked after us was outstanding. |

The restaurant was small & cosy, good romantic spot.
Food was presented beautifully, but our medium rare steak was closer to well done.
The waiter was unfortunately very abrupt, but he was efficient.
The mid week special is great value for money. |

The food was amazing, the restaurant was quiet and it was perfect.
I am gluten intolerant and I could eat nearly everything on the menu, they were very careful with my order and double checked everything with the chef. I will definitely return. |

| This is a special place and it is the simple things that make it special, the simple decor, the Norman Lindsay prints, the easy to read and even easier to digest entree menu, the exceptional wine list and the courteous service staff make it one of those places you would take someone from out of town. |

| The welcome could have been better, as there was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time. We were placed right in the window next to the door, which meant that it was quite cold, especially with one group of smokers going constantly in and out; leaving the door ajar on most occasions. There was no explanation of the menu, the tasting option, or recommendations. Having chosen the tasting menu with wine, my partner's first glass of wine had a fly in it, and was changed. The food was very tasty and the wines matched the food extremely well, but any questions we raised about the wines were not answered very well. Most dishes were served within a reasonable time of each other, with the exception of the last meat course. When presented with the bill, the wines had been missed off, but we brought this to the attention of the waiter. Better customer focus would have resulted in a higher score, as the food was good. |

| We had a very pleasant evening. It was quiet when we arrived so the service was particularly attentive. Just the right sized portions, which were delicious and overall great value. |
