  Rapidly going downhill and in desperate need of a renovation. They have a large flower-bearing tree out back which is beautiful in spring, but torture for anyone with hayfever.

  Attended one of the private rooms for a work function, $50 per person - the food was like it was from the local charcoal chicken place, the desert was so hard I had almost hammer my spoon to break the pie crust. The staff have no idea what GLUTEN FREE means if you require GLUTEN FREE or special dietary needs then AVOID this place. The noise levels, despite having a private room, was just ridiculous.   All things considered, apart from the service, the night was reasonable. The Service, unfortunately, was terrible.

  Unfortunately we were seated in the outside dining area along with two very large groups, so we knew that were in for a "loud" evening.

  Then things started to get worse!

  Wait staff did not listen when we placed drink orders, and as a result, we received drinks we did not order. When our correct orders did come, they were taken to other tables before arriving at ours. This happened on 3 separate occasions. We were then forced to keep our own tally of drinks ordered to verify against our account.

  With regard to our meals, eight out of 10 mains arrived almost together, and unfortunately two ladies in our group did not receive theirs until others on the table had almost finished their mains.

  When you are paying just on $100 per head for food and drink, you expect better.

  On leaving Barnaby's, we as a group all stated that, whilst we enjoyed the food, we would not be returning in a hurry.

  The food was lovely except there was too much sauce of the heavy sauce covering my plate. Other than that the other meals were great. The service was friendly but they did need to cbe called to the table. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the food here and have been going back for many years and noticed small changes.   Lovely place, very friendly, great food - varied, tasty, really beautifully done. Sometimes service is a bit forgetful and fail to peruse the room for customer care ... but overall our favourite place for quality, healthy meals.   (Eden - October, 2006)
