Consistently chipper service with bustling Spanish-like atmosphere, just like a real tapas bar in Madrid or Seville or Barcelona - without the smokers! Have been several times over the past three years - thrice for dinner and once for an afternoon session, the most recent time being early December 08 for dinner during which it did appear service had slipped ever so slightly although it was extremely busy. Highlights - garlic prawns, pickled mushrooms, churros with chocolate dipping sauce We will be there again soon! (addley - January, 2009) Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10
I cannot complain at all, 10 out of 10 for everything. The service is always wonderful, the food is divine, especially garlic/chilli prawns and homemade bread. The sherry shot with liquid chocolate is amazing. Absolutely love this place, and the rustic, intimate feel it has. Horrible dining experience. Water served in paper cups, warm beer, and warm sangria. Mains before tapas, missing tapas, overcharging on the bill and staff were dismissive. Food was acceptable, but have had better Paeilla in Melbourne for half the price. (erinkan - December, 2008) Overall 4.3 - Food 6, Ambience 4, Value 4, Service 3
Was a great restaurant when I first went a couple of years ago...not so much these days. Mainly the service had dropped in value but the food has sadly gone down town also. Some of our tapas dishes were forgotten all together and also one of our dessert dishes too. The staff tried to make up for it with complementary Spanish donuts but this was long after we had already finished our luke-warm coffees and lost interest in the sweets (which were on the cold/dry side...a regretful evening unfortunately. (Lolo - See my reviews (2) - December, 2008) Overall 6.3 - Food 6, Ambience 7, Value 6, Service 6
Nice buzzy, noisy atmosphere. Very attentive and friendly staff. Food a bit hit and miss. "Chorizo on toast", is exactly that, a chorizo sliced in half on two bits of dry toast. Looks like something you might find on the pavement ... But garlic prawns were great, codfish croquettes nice, but remarkably mean with the aioli. Calamari nice and fresh but the "cheese puffs" glutinous and stodgy. Overall, a good place for a bottle of wine or two and some nibbles / tapas on the side. Not for dinner. A wonderful gastronomic experience, delightful food, superb wine and friendly staff. Highly recommend to all. Overall 9 - Food 9, Ambience 10, Value 7, Service 10
The atmosphere was relaxed, paella was excellent, but the tapas serves were a tad over-priced... (October, 2008) Overall 7.3 - Food 8, Ambience 7, Value 6, Service 8
A friend and I went on a Thursday night before 7pm so before it got too busy... Staff were lovely (in particular one gorgeous English man behind the bar), food and wine was delicious! Overall 7.8 - Food 8, Ambience 8, Value 7, Service 8
Great food and wine - perfect for a girls night catch up where you can all share and eat form communal dishes. Lovely cosy atmoshphere but a little noisy. Staff were very attentive and helpful. (girlsnight - July, 2008) |
