About Bedi's Indian Restaurant

First established in 1980, Bedi's Indian Restaurant in South Melbourne offers authentic North Indian cuisine. Popular favourites include our butter chicken and dishes prepared in the traditional tandoor oven.

Bedi's Indian Restaurant is a member of the Restaurant Association of Vic. We have won awards from the Australian Gastronomical Society and American Express. In addition, we have been listed in several publications including The Age and the Herald Sun. Our authentic Indian recipes have been featured on Channel 10 and the "Lifestyle" channel on Foxtel.

    Was quoted 40 mins for delivery but it arrive after 15 minutes... although i do live across the street. Food was great! second best indian i have had in melbourne.     Bedi's used to be awesome, some of the best Indian around, but lately it seems to have gone way down hill. Last couple of orders were very ordinary, and the only resemblance to their previous offerings was the price, which remains expensive.     Food was quite good. I can't seem to find any Indian restaurants in Melbourne with great food.

    Prices are all about the same across restaurants so no advantage there.

    The food came within 45 minutes and was hot on arrival.

    We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and a Mushroom Curry. Both were delicious and I would receommend Bedi's curry to anyone.

    I've been getting bedi's takeaway for a couple of years now. They've changed their portion size. for $20 you get a small round container for 5-7 pieces of meat. I will NEVER buy from them again. Try Bendal Tiger they are cheaper and don't totally rip you off.   (David - March, 2010)

    Delivery was terrible. Over-priced. And very late.(Keep in mind I ordered as soon as they opened) The first estimate was 35 minutes. The confirmation text told me 45 minutes (Due at 7:30pm). They did not get here until 7:55, at which point I expressed my anger and told the delivery guy they had now lost my business. It is quite bad considering the restaurant is only about 5 minutes away by car.

      I suspect the food was better here in days gone by given the reputation of this restaurant. Have eaten here twice after giving it a second chance but was disappointed both times. Far better Indian than this around town. My vindaloo was dry and bland and chutneys for starters were basic and not as authentic as they could be.
