"Food tasted quite good, but portions were too small. Although this is a fine dining restaurant, the prices were too expensive for portion size. Good service. Cocktails were A++++! Not ideal for large groups of 10 or 15 as there is not much room and can't sit together. Ambience was good. Parking is limited to 2 hours so need to park on the street if you want sit and relax."
"Went to Belle Epoque for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed everything. From the lovely hostess to our funny yet professional waiter and the food! Yum yum! Highly recommended." more reviews

We went in on a Saturday morning breakfast to find a new menu. As frequent morning visitors to Belle Epoque, we had become accustomed to their old breakfast menu, but let it be said, the new menu is better than ever. We love that some of the old favourites are still available, but the new items have a greater French feel, separating Belle Epoque from the other boring Bacon and Eggs breakfasts you get elsewhere. With choices like Duck Eggs, French Toast and Poached Pears, my husband and I were excited to try them all. We were also happy to find lighter breakfast options included on the menu. The food was delicious and service great. Ended up having the Continental Breakfast and enjoyed the bowl of Hot Chocolate. Would happily go there everyday before work. Had my daughter's birthday at Belle Epoque. Was a superb night. We enjoyed the salad entree and the snails. You HAVE to try the beef rossini (served with foie gras) YUM! Overall 7.8 - Food 7, Ambience 9, Value 7, Service 8
I recently dined at Belle Epoque for a friends birthday dinner. have to say I was impressed! the menu had a lot to offer and the service was fantastic. so attentive and we felt our waiter really went out of their way to make my friends night that extra special. they had even organised a birthday cake! which I later found out you can order! not only was the service great and the atmosphere, the food was a hit. highly recommend the Duck a la Orange, delicious and succulent. I will definitely be heading back. (Savvydiner - July, 2009) Overall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 9, Value 10, Service 10
Forget the rest. This is it. Food was excellent, service was excellent. Would go back anytime! (JohnI - See my reviews (5) - December, 2008) Overall 3.3 - Food 3, Ambience 4, Value 3, Service 3
We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast, what a mistake. We were very surprised by the lack of substance behind the "fancy" facade, especially by the noticeably dirty mirrors on the walls. A couple beside us were very upset by the lax service as a waitress tossed a cup of coffee on the table, it sloshed over the side as she rushed off without noticing. At the time we were unable to order croissants or any items from the patisserie which was closed and we were forced to order from the very average breakfast menu. The berry smoothie was not available and the waitress recommended the strawberry instead. A $7 strawberry milkshake made with syrup and not a fresh strawberry in sight was served. Overall, over-rated. (Barolo - See my reviews (2) - October, 2008) Overall 7.8 - Food 8, Ambience 8, Value 7, Service 8
Very attentive and courteous staff - constantly checking whether guests have everything they need. Proper setting and quality dinnerware. The food was fresh and snapped cooked - not over-cooked. The Escargot were a bit too salty though. A comprehensive wine list with a good selection of French wines. And cocktails were perfect. Definitely worth coming back to. Excellent all round experience. Great wine list. (May, 2008) Overall 6 - Food 8, Ambience 5, Value 6, Service 5
Found the menus a little hard to read. Had expected the restaurant to be not quite as noisy. Service was good at first but once restaurant got busier I felt that we were forgotten. (April, 2008) |
