Paying homage to the “Beautiful Era” in European history not just in name but intrinsically in nature, Belle Epoque’s stunning turn-of-the-century setting and rustic repertoire of hearty French fare will have diners thinking they have died and gone to Paris.

In the tradition of the great brasseries of France, the menu is classically inspired with many dishes evolving from recipes dating back hundreds of years. With this nostalgic respect for tradition but also a canny feel for contemporary preference, chef de cuisine Sebastien Labbe has ensured there are enough subtle twists to seduce the most seasoned Francophile.

From the smell of freshly baked baguettes wafting through from the neighboring Boulangerie and Patisserie and the well stocked chilled seafood counter, to the accented wait staff and the rich texture-driven decor that characterized 1920’s Paris, one needs only to swing open the grand double doors to see that Belle Epoque has that certain je ne sais quoi about it.

Food tasted quite good, but portions were too small. Although this is a fine dining restaurant, the prices were too expensive for portion size. Good service. Cocktails were A++++! Not ideal for large groups of 10 or 15 as there is not much room and can't sit together. Ambience was good. Parking is limited to 2 hours so need to park on the street if you want sit and relax.   (IK - See my reviews (2) - January, 2010)

Went to Belle Epoque for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed everything. From the lovely hostess to our funny yet professional waiter and the food! Yum yum! Highly recommended.   (SuperFoods - See my reviews (2) - October, 2009)

We went in on a Saturday morning breakfast to find a new menu. As frequent morning visitors to Belle Epoque, we had become accustomed to their old breakfast menu, but let it be said, the new menu is better than ever. We love that some of the old favourites are still available, but the new items have a greater French feel, separating Belle Epoque from the other boring Bacon and Eggs breakfasts you get elsewhere. With choices like Duck Eggs, French Toast and Poached Pears, my husband and I were excited to try them all. We were also happy to find lighter breakfast options included on the menu. The food was delicious and service great. Ended up having the Continental Breakfast and enjoyed the bowl of Hot Chocolate. Would happily go there everyday before work.   (Luke - See my reviews (2) - July, 2009)

Had my daughter's birthday at Belle Epoque. Was a superb night. We enjoyed the salad entree and the snails. You HAVE to try the beef rossini (served with foie gras) YUM!

We'll be back to try the new breakfast menu.   (brisfoodie - See my reviews (3) - July, 2009)
