Had an excellent dinner here, chose the restaurant off a positive article i read in the West on their award winning Chefs, the experience did not disappoint,

The perfect venue for quality food, buffet is perfect for that celebration or group booking, where there is something for everyone   (Brilliant - October, 2009)

Our first experience at Bistro 38. We discovered the restaurant online, upon searching for a restaurant in our area. The hotel/resort itself, absolutely beautiful..........and we only viewed it at night, cannot wait to see it under the brilliance of the sun. We were quite cheerfully greeted/welcomed to the restaurant, and seeing as though we were a few minutes early for our reservation, we had a drink at the bar area (very conveniently located outside the restaurant). Upon being ready to be taken to our table we discovered that we'd been given the sort of table that we requested and quite liked. First thing we noticed was that there was no table cloth, the table itself was lovely and presented likewise, but a table cloth (to our mind) should have been a must (preferably a white one). The decor in the restaurant was quite classy, however, some colourful flowers on the tables and maybe adorning various sections of the restaurant would have added more to the ambience. The restaurant was well-lit, but maybe slightly too much. Some strategically placed plants/statues/flowers would have succeeded in giving the patrons more of a sense of privacy, as well as lending a more "romantic" flavour to the decor. The two art pieces on the back wall were lovely, however they blended into the decor, some art pieces with a "pop" of colour would have been more apt. There was no dinner music playing (or any other kind)!!!! We strongly felt that some music would have helped drown out some of the other dinner conversation and gave us more of a sense of romance and privacy. The food, absolutely fantastic!!! Presentation of the buffet was wonderful and quite appetizing, the slight description of each dish, great idea and most helpful, the food itself..........extremely delicious - our compliments to the chef(s)!!! Best buffet experience we've ever had.......food greatly surpassed our expectations! Service again, from one particular gentleman (head waiter?) very friendly, down to earth and most attentive! We will most assuredly be returning!!!   (July, 2008)

The buffet was lovely. They had recently changed the food on the buffet and they did it with style. The meat was succulent, the seafood was fresh, the selection available on the outdoor BBQ was to die for and the very young male chef on Saturday night gave me a glimmer of hope that service can be achieved with a beaming smile. Oh, and his manners were impeccable; so rare! We will be going back again, and again...   (Taryna Michelle - March, 2008)
