I'm a local so I've had plenty of experience with the blarney. Although it is a little pricey for the food quality, the staff are fantastic and it's a generally well run place. There's regular live music, and the Blarney's character gives it a warm and welcoming atmosphere (ESPECIALLY on St.Patricks day!)   (Blarney Stone - October, 2008)

I'll have to agree with both review's. I've had varied experience from excellent to very disappointing. I will keep giving it a go though because its nice and warm and has so much potential to be a stand out pub.   (Fair - August, 2008)

I started going to the Blarney Stone January this year.

I don't know where Gina got their opinions - biker scene? What biker scene?

The locals are amongst the friendliest and kindest. As a female, it is nice to know I have a safe place I can go where the locals and the staff will look after anyone who needs it.

The drinks are priced very reasonably (unless you are creating trouble and have been doing so for some time, then they charge more so you won't come back - perhaps that was your problem Gina).

There are 2 sections you can choose to drink in, in the front bar areas. Here, the food is cheap pub-grub and so big, my husband and I often share the meals. I can get a dinner starting from $5 most days.

Out the back, there is a restaurant area with delicious restaurant quality food. The apple crumble is to die for.

The bar staff are all well trained, lovely, stunningly good looking and make a mean cocktail.

If you get the right guy, he'll even make pictues in the guinnes head.   (Hannah - August, 2008)

dont believe every snob dat gives a bad review this place is great   (February, 2008)

Food here is unimaginative, poor quality and not cooked well. If you like the TAB/ biker scene, then this is for you. Complete with the smokers crew in corrals on the narrow footpath out front. You'd expect this type of place to be inexpensive given the type of food, tired decor, etc. but wait... it's in the heart of Yarraville Village, so expect to pay more! The Blarney's saving grace are the staff who are pleasantly friendly and quick to serve.   (Gina - January, 2008)
