About Blue River Thai

"At Blue River Thai restaurant, you will enjoy the authentic Thai cuisine prepared by George Jantavongso (the Executive Chef of Blue River Thai) in the ambience and atmosphere of Thai modern style which is easily accessible and providing a relaxed, comfortable environment. Located on Canterbury Road, just next to the historic Maling Road precinct.

During morning or late afternoon, you can stroll down Maling Road; which provides a relaxing yet stimulating experience of the clothes and the Antiques shops in an Old English village setting; then visit Blue River Thai for Lunch (Friday) or for dinner (Tuesday to Sunday). We are Fully Licenced and B.Y.O. (Wine Only).

Executive Chef, George has over 10 years of experience in the restaurant industry. Having graduated from William Angliss Institute of TAFE in Commercial Cookery, George also received Certified Training Course in Thai Cook and Certified National Skill Standard Testing in the Field of Thai Cook from Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour,Thailand. My first order from this local Thai-- delivery was pretty fast, but the green and red curries were quite bland, and more soupy than with ingredients. We have dined at Blue River and had takeaway a number of times. On this particular occasion using Menu Log the process was very seamless, the food was delivered on time and it was very good as always. (Sophie - April, 2013)

I could not believe it when the meals turned up at the door less than 20mins after ordering! We order regularly and usually get the satay chicken skewers, roti bread, steamed rice and either the red duck currey or massamun beef currey. We have loved it every single time! Bad, bad, bad!
Delivered an hour late so all the food was cold! Couldn't get through by phone and ended up driving to the restaurant to find the delivery had gone. Waited another 1/2 hour before it arrived
Massaman curry was watery and had about 5 pieces of meat.
Small serves - cost over $70 and family of four left hungry and annoyed!

I have ordered food from here twice, both times I requested no seafood (prawns or shrimp) very clearly, and both times they were delived with prawns in it. Very disappointing. I'm not sure that I will risk a third time lucky. (fatcharlie - October, 2011)

A place where great quality food is consistently served. I first dined in Blue River Thai and was very impressed with the customer service, quality of food and overall experience (atmosphere). I liked it so much that I have been getting takeaway from there on a consistent basis, and my order is always ready by the time I arrive.
