    Hungarian food is acclaimed for its wonderful flavours worldwide, and in the tradition of the classic Hungarian restaurant, our menu has an enormous range of Hungarian, European and modern fare. Of course you’ll get an amazing Goulash, but you can also look forward to dishes like Stuffed Capsicum, Eye Fillet Budapest and our famous schnitzels.

    Our bar features a wonderful range of pálinkas; pure fruit brandies imported from countries including Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro and France. We stock a wide variety of European beers, local and Hungarian wines, and spirits. We also offer BYO wine from Sun to Wed.

    We offer a Happy Hour early dinner special every night and LIVE GYPSY KLEZMER MUSIC ON THE FIRST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH.

      Been here several times, schnitzels and steak are the best I've ever had! The stuffed mushrooms are not to be missed. Thoroughly recommended, been there at different times and days and eaten practically the whole menu, NEVER have had a bad experience.   (jtg - March, 2009)

      The food quality is poor for Hungarian cuisine. The quantity is average for Eastern European venues. The ingredients are down graded possibly for cost basis, and the management could not rationalise the basis. The attraction is probably the ambience and the alcohol.       Had a fantastic time. Portions were large but quality and taste were great. Lovely staff were helpful and attentive. Place had a really good, european buzz about it. Try the fruit brandies!!!   (Tanja - November, 2007)

      The food is divine but the dishes are overpriced and the service could be better for what they are asking. Unusual extremely palatable experiences such as the Cold Cherry Soup and the veal something I had after that would have been even more unforgettable if the hot meals were actually hot by the time they were served.   (rainbow - February, 2007)

    Viktor Sallay - Our head chef, Viktor Sallay, is a native of Budapest, Hungary. He has over twenty years cooking experience in a variety of cuisines including Hungarian, Russian, Italian and Modern Australian. He was head chef at the Brighton Savoy Hotel. He then ran Melbourne’s most famous Hungarian kitchen at the Newmarket Hotel in St. Kilda which was frequently reviewed and recommended in newspapers and on the radio.
