It was our last night in Adelaide and we went into Buenos Aires after going pass a couple of times and reading the menu. The service was great at the beging we shared an entree I declined bread becasue as I told the waitress I was going to have dessert. We both had steak with a sauce, the were delicious I had wine my husband had beer. After our main meal everything stopped no-one came to clear our wooden plate we wanted more wine and beer but could get anyone attention. We waited, I had decided what dessert I wanted but again just sat there with emplty glasses and uncleared table after 30 minutes we got up paid our bill , went down to the IGA and bought some Maggie Beer icecream went home and had dessert and some more drinks.   (dudley - See my reviews (2) - September, 2010)

We went as a group of 8 for a mate's birthday dinner. Was instantly impressed by the decor and service. All the waiters were very friendly and professional.

Once we placed our orders, entree took about 30mins to come out. The mushroom and the smoked salmon were delicious. While everyone else ordered steak (rump, T-bone or scotch), I decided to try something different and picked the prawns - BIG MISTAKE!

Prawns were first out...about 45mins after the entrees were cleared. Some of the prawns were not cooked - still had that shiny grey slightly transparent texture that you see in raw prawns, not the nice light orange and white. I decided to try it anyway, in case I was just being picky, but when I cut into the meat near the head, all this browny green liquid squirted out from the prawn head. I love prawns and from my experiences of eating and cooking it, I believe that usually if the prawn is cooked properly, the liquid from the head (that I was told by the staff was 'brain') usually hardens so it shouldn't squirt out unless not cooked. I only had 3 prawns before I couldn't stomach anymore - by then feeling a bit ill. The stir-fried vegies and potatoes were the highlight of the main course for me - delicious! The waitress came over and asked politely if I enjoyed my meal - I explained that I didn't think the prawns were cooked. She took them back - apologising and came back later to tell me that the chef and the manager had tried the remaining prawns and agreed that they were not cooked enough. For my troubles, they only charged me for an entree size instead of for the main size - which was very nice of them considering I only ate what would have been entree size, if that.

Dessert was lovely although a little disappointing. The creme brulee was smooth and creamy as it should be but the flavour (normally a rich vanilla) was overpowered by a strong citrus taste. Maybe this is the Argentinian way of making creme brulee? Still nice but unexpectedly different (as there was nothing in the menu about the citrus component). Oh...and because I was still hungry, my friend offered me some of her steak - was moist, and tasty. So if you do decide to go to Buenos Aires, order their signature steak!   (Yum!-Raw prawn and prawn brains! - See my reviews (3) - August, 2009)
