I had been so looking forward to dining at this iconic Perth restaurant for quite some time. I was very lucky to be able to have the opportunity to dine twice in a week both times were for work Christmas parties. Both times were somewhat disappointing :( Food was below average, the blue cheese polenta was very dry & crumbly, crab mousse, void of any flavour & far toooo whipped cream like. The sirloin which I asked to be 'Med Rare' was borderline 'Well Done' & the Creme Brulee was overcooked & 'grainy' . The carafe of water at our table was undrinkable my partner called it "swamp water". The view was spectacular. (December 2010)

I had been looking so forward to dining at C Restaurant & I had 2 Christmas parties to attend at C Restaurant. Both evenings (Saturday night & a Thursday night) were very disappointing, fabulous views, way below average cafe food: the polenta was dry & crumbly, the crab mousse tasteless & sloppy, the sirloin steak (med rare) very dry & the creme brulee, absolutely ghastly & the water served in the glass jugs was nothing short of swamp like! Two very unappealing nights out!

View was excelent i keep forgetting how high it is. We went for lunch and had the 2 courses for $30 it is great value for money and the food was delicious and the wait staff were very frendly and helpfully. They even made me a cocktail that was not on the list so they are very open. The only critisism i have was that the windows were a bit dirty which made you focus on them instead of the view which made a couple of us a bit queesy. But otherwise was an excelent lunch.

Prior to having my Hen's High Tea at C, I came to this website and read alot of these reviews. I was very worried about the experience I would have at C considering what we anticpiated we would spend. So, I called C and spoke to the manager about what I had read. He explained to me how our High Tea would run and that if we had any issues - (Bad food) we could expect a full refund. He assured me the restaurant handled bad reviews seriously and they tackled them one at a time. On arrival we were seated right my the windows and immediately served. The hostess was lovely and we never had to ask more than once for something. When we did ask for something it was there within minutes. The food was delicious and fresh and filling. The cocktails were spot on and the tea and coffee was very very good. C is not cheap and a 1st class experience is what you pay for and this is what we got. I have emailed the manager and thanked him for looking after my booking as promised and we couldnt have asked for anything better. I will go back without hesitation.

Upon arriving for my 8:15 reservation, my partner and I were ignored for 5 minutes by the seating hostess. I was willing to overlook this due to the fact that there were two office holiday parties at the restaurant that night, but looking back I should have taken it as a sign of things to come. I ordered the duck livers served on a bed of greens for my entree, and was disappointed with what I received. The duck livers were horribly overcooked and dry, and the table next to ours ordered the same dish and had the exact same complaint. I ordered the seafood risotto for my main, and it was so glue-y and unappetizing that I had to send it back. My partner ordered the steak, rare, and it was served to him cold, tough, and well-done. He sent his meal back, as well. The table next to us also ordered the steak, and also had to send it back because it was served cold and tough. I informed our waiter (who never once stopped by to check on us and see how we were doing -- I had to flag down the girl who pours water to get our waiter for us) that I did not like my meal, and neither did my partner. The manager came to our table, and instead of apologizing for the quality of our service and food, he told me to order something else off the menu. I told him repeatedly that I did not want to order anything else off the menu because I had not been happy with anything I had ordered so far, but he told me that was not an option. Reluctantly, I ordered the gnocchi because I figured it would be very difficult for the kitchen to mess up that order. After being told that it would only take 10 minutes for our new mains to be brought out to us, we waited for half an hour before we were served. No one stopped by our table to apologize or to keep us updated on the status of our food. The assistant manager came over to refill our water glasses, and I told her about our plight and let her know that during the two hours we had been at the restaurant, we had only been served our entrees. Her response to this was not an apology for our inconvenience, but to ask if I was in some kind of a hurry. Once our second entrees had been brought out, our waiter came over and snidely asked me if I was "finally happy now?" I told him that I was not because of the whole experience of the night, and I asked for the check. Other tables around us were having similar issues with our waiter and the amount of time they were made to wait for food. In order to get the attention of the waiter, one table actually had to get up and walk over to him while he was standing around talking to other waitstaff. Another table had to flag him down so that they would be served their bowls of soup. I overheard the woman at that table say that they had been waiting 45 minutes for two bowls of soup, which is just ridiculous! We were charged a little over $200 for our terrible dining experience, and when I took this up with the assistant manager at the cashier's stand, she told me that she would not take any mon...

visited the restaurant the other day for the first time with my husband for our 10th wedding anniversary first of all, I could not believe how spectacular the views were, it was truly amazing!! My husband and I both ordered the Chargrilled grass fed beef fillet for a maiin, and the choclate moelleux for dessert they were both delicious and would reccommend this to anyone who would like to go the restaurant. Our waiter was very helpful (french accent) and he made our night a very memorable one to remember. I cannot say one negative thing about the restaurant the staff are very delightful and the food was brilliant, THANK YOU C RESTAURANT, and you will be seeing me soon.

Unfortunate that the meals were so pre-prepared. Not really what you expect when you are paying $60 for a bottle of $20 wine.

When will you commence the next "Pay what u think it's worth" offer ? We enjoyed the meal and service. The view was intoxicating - was it the wine or the spinning ?!?

I found the staff really cold. We were seated in the inner circle, even thought the restaurant was empty. We requested to move to the window seating area but were refused. Very disappointing.

went for lunch with my mum today to try the "pay what u think its worth promotion" it was absolutely beautiful!! went there with low expectations and was totally surprised. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and helped accommodate my dietary needs, the food was the best i had eaten in a long time and all beautifully presented, this is a honest review and i would most certainly recommend going for lunch as i would definitely return!!!

Service was slow, waitress spilled coffee on table and didn't even bother to clean it up, sandwiches were dry and stale, scones were rock hard, tea and coffee cold. Walked out without paying- we couldn't eat it! Went and bought nice cakes from a bakery and had our own high tea at home- much better idea. Never going back. Unfortunately I think this place relies way too much on the views.

Went for "High Tea" as a treat with friends...poor service was the highlight...food not much better... 45 mins to take an order...unhappy when asked for Earl Grey over English Breakfast....credit card went missing for 30 mins when trying to settle account. Extremely disappointing...save your money.

This restaurant is supposed to be 'high class' restaurant and Denim is not allowed. We booked it for a special occasion for our daughter's birthday. When arrived, I am surpised the people who serves there wearing not different to those waiters and waitresses in normal coffee shop. After showing where to sit, they dissappeared for a while, not even saying 'excuse me, and be right back.' Service is not professional and they seemed to walked pass you until you nearly had to stand up to get notice. The Lamb we ordered comes with long shaped mashed potatoes (sausage like in red colour, and a trangular shaped 'cake) all sweet taste - on its side .The whole thing looked very unappealing and tasted weird .The fish my husband ordered was nothing special but just some clear sauce on top. My son had to force to finish his steak which, steak is usually his favourite but not this one. The brown sauce was just brown sauce. We felt like we were force to have appetizer or dessert along with the main meal. All 5 deserts are mousse apart from one is Sorbet. Unfortunatly the sorbet did not taste like sorbet at all. it is just a blob of icecream, a piece of mango and bit of plum on top of heavily coloured green jelly like those from the shelf of a supermarket. My husband requested for chocalate cake, it is very dry. We are extremely dissapointed. When the bill came, we were charged over $320 dollars. I think we could done better in any coffee shop any where. We do not mind to pay for good food and service for the price, but for what we had for above, no way we would go back there again. It is very ashamed the restaurant with such a beautiful view could not even offer decent meals.

The whole dining experience, from the time we exited the lift into the foyer, ran like clock work. The staff were very knowledgeable about the specials and service impeccable and great food.

Went for lunch today. Enjoyed my meal (the lamb dish). Tried the salmon, and it was also very good. A bit pricey, but I guess you are paying for the experience as well as the meal, so that's ok. The service was very polite, and knowledgable about wine. The waiter did have to check what the soup of the day was when asked. The service was also a bit slow, but I was a bit sensitive to that as parking was difficult to find and I ended up in one of the 1-hour carparks down the road, and had to refresh my ticket. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and I would go again.

IOur recent dinner at this restaurant was SUCH a disappointment!!! I have been here before sevreal times so had high hopes for a lovely night with my overseas guests but instead we left having experienced a very average meal and a ridiculously high bill. The food was embarassingly bad and the $40 surcharge for weekends was not warranted. With so many other excellent fine dining restaurants in Perth we certainly won't be rushing back!!!
