Great food, great service and a really warm atmosphere. We were visiting from Interstate last night and went to Cafe macchiato for dinner. I had the Thai fish curry from the specials board and it was spot on. My wife had their "signature dish", Chicken Normandy, which had a wonderful tasty sauce on top of a delightful chicken breast. We shared a bottle of the Shingle Peak sav blanc recommended by the waitress and also had a bottle of local beer, a crackenback ale. We shared a piece of tiramisu and had a coffee each for dessert. Overall a wonderful night with excellent service that made us feel like regulars. We will be back and had a really great night !   (SkiBunnies - June, 2008)

I was at the Cafe for lunch. I had the 'fish of the day' which was tasteless and came with chips drenched in cooking fat - it oozed out of the chips as you bit into them - ghastly. My companion had the kangaroo. Large hunks. inelegantly served, tough and overdone. The salad was drenched in oil which lapped around the plate! Service was OK but so casual - no offers to refresh water jug for example. Wouldn't give it another try unless I heard there was new management. I think it was more than just a 'bad day' - the whole place needs an overhaul by a professional who can sort out the cooking and upgrade the service. Yuk. Margaret   (Luncheon disaster - May, 2008)

Food was good and reasonably priced however the service was absolutely appalling, i can only hope that the waitress was having a bad day, irrespectively, it should not be taken out on the patrons!!   (ACTDiner - November, 2007)

I don't usually leave reviews but i just have to share my outrage regarding the service i received. Food was good but absolute thumbs down for service. I can only hope the waitress was having a bad day, but there's no excuse for taking it out on her patrons!!!   (November, 2007)

We had a good, heary meal at a reasonable price. The service was excellent. Best value for money we have found in a long time   (August, 2007)
