The setting is wonderful as you sit at the window upstairs in the restaurant looking out over the beach, the bay, the jetty and the remains of the Cerberus of course. It was a warm evening, so many families were downstairs enjoying their fish and chips after playing at the beach.

The setting of the restaurant is great, it looks good and feels very relaxed. I have to say from the moment we arrived the staff made the visit that little bit better. they were relaxed and friendly and just all round nice.

The food is not that of the world’s best restaurants but believe me it is good and certainly worth eating. The menu caters to all tastes with a feature being seafood. There is beef and pork for the carnivores and good options also for us vegequarians and our vegetarian friends.

For entrees we chose to share the Oven Baked Portobello Mushrooms with goats cheese on a rocket, red onion and toasted pine nut salad and the dangerous (don’t tell my cardiologist) Saganaki with pickled red onions and a baby Roma

tomato and fresh herb salad. Both were delightful but the mushrooms were something special.

Mains saw us opt for an entrée-sized meal of Zucchini and Feta Fritters with Black Rock smoked Salmon and a lemon and dill crème fraiche that she certainly enjoyed. We added a Rocket, Walnut, Pear and Shaved Pecorino Salad to top off the meal which was also very tasty. I figured I had to try the fish and chips seeing we were at the beach so I went with the house’s Cerberus beer battered Victorian gummy with fennel coleslaw, mushy peas and country style tartare sauce which were yummy. The peas and coleslaw varieties were an especially delicious treat. Surprisingly we passed on dessert although we were seriously tempted.

I could easily have opted for the oven baked blue eye cod or the crispy skin cone bay barramundi but they are just an excuse to go back. The return visit is likely to see me try the blueberry, blood orange, rockmelon and pomegranate filled brandy snap basket with citrus hung yoghurt. How could I possibly resist again.

It’s an ideal venue to take someone visiting from interstate or overseas to provide a great setting that is relaxed and enjoyable.

This is another excellent addition to the list.   (Boris - See my reviews (3) - January, 2012)
