My partner and I decided to do Valentine's Day a little early and spoil ourselves by heading out for some "fine dining".

Unfortunately that's not what we received.The decor is very outdated, and the prices are quite high for what you receive.

For entree my partner ordered the tempura prawns.

These were quite nice, well cooked and really nice flavours.

For mains, I ordered the BBQ ocean plate, my partner ordered the grilled fillet steak.

The steak was cooked just as requested, the jus and sauce were tasty and my partner even managed to eat the carrot gateau (he's a fussy eater).

My seafood was very poor. One piece of squid was overcooked, the other undercooked.

The scallops were also very undercooked.

The sauce and rice were great, the other seafood cooked correctly.

When we tried to tell the waitress (an older lady) that the seafood was undercooked the response was "that's the way we cook our seafood, it's rare".

She even cut us off from speaking and stated that next time we should specify the way we

want it cooked... um, the menu didn't specify that you cook your seafood rare!!

I can understand the small piece of tuna being rare, but squid and scallops???

who does that???

As mentioned by another here, we felt like the waitress (who appeared to be the head waitress) was telling us off like naughty children and looking down her nose at us.

We will NOT be dining here again because of the service.   (Jerez - March, 2011)

Loved it!

My wife and I used Chanterelle for our wedding reception and were blown away by the service and food.

They did a great job of making the best day of my night even better.

Many of my guests continue to comment on the food and atmosphere.

The food was an experience to remember. Not only was their variety but the quality of the food and produce was outstanding. The waitstaff were fantastic tending to our every need with a smile and enthusiasm that is sorely missed in the industry.

An outstanding dining experience that we will be back to enjoy for many years to come.
