I love this restaurant. I have my birthday family dinner here every year. the food is excellent and the service is above reproach. If you havent tried it then your missing out on a great experience.

Menu and wine list catered to everyones needs. Food was delightful as usual. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Overall, will continue eating here. This is also the 2nd time I have used menulog to make a reservation and everthing ran smoothly.

Returning to the the Charcoal Grill after 20 years was fascinating. Little had changed. A little quaint. The atmosphere was fun. Patrons were squeezed in European style. 70's decor abounds. Food was old fashioned but excellent. The menu had not changed except to add two columns "ex GST" and "GST". Never seen that before.But they really know how to serve a steak. We'll go back again and this time won't wait 20 years! Beats most of the stainless steel hi tech alternatives in this town.

This is my favourite restaurant and has the best steak in Canberra (or anywhere for that matter). Sizes are generous so we often skip entree or dessert. I can't go past the steak but I once had the chicken parmigiana, which got me ordering that dish in other restaurants, but I've never had a better one than at the charcoal. It's Not a cheap place to eat but given the food quality it represents outstanding value, you get a lot for your money. I probably shouldn't send this as you already have to book a day before or more to get a table, but they deserve a good review.

This is my second visit there and it was great, like always.

I eat here every week as do many other regulars, it is excellent value for money.
