Just had an extremely disappointing lunch at Citrus. It took 40 mins for our mains even though we were the only ones waiting for food and when it came my gnocchi was so bad i sent it back. To charge $28 for a small serve of mushy pasta and ontop of that the owner/manager didnt even bother to talk to us even though there were only 2 tables of people he just hovered aroundthe waitress was apologetic but we will never return nor recommend it to anyone. We recently went citrus and it was a fabulous evening. Beautiful food, perfectly presented and full of life. Been there couple of times and have become a sucker for their food. I myself cooked food for a while in late 90s and can surely say " Good quality ingredients cooked beautifully".

Good to see trendy European dishes on the menu. Goosh!!!! no more old hat asian influence.......................   (Trendy European food..... - December, 2010)

Very disappointed in service and food. Appalling service and one of the meals was sent back. Had to ask (track down a waiter) to order both drinks and food. Asked to speak to the manager about poor service/food but not forthcoming. Will never go back. Had been to Citrus on many occassions under the old management and was always a pleasant dining experience. With high level or service and food quality. Disappointing to see how the standards have dropped under new management.   (KT2010 - October, 2010)

Good quality food poorly prepared. Service ok. No response from manager when food was sent back because it was cold or when desert was heated up in microwave and was uneven in temperature. Will not return under present ownership.   (Frenchers - September, 2010)

Now under new management. Food quality and variety has definitely improved. Staff and owners give excellent service.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Chefs are producing quality dishes and we had the special. King Dory-exquisite and well presented and the bombe alaska was one to write home about. We will return soon.   (tom - See my reviews (2) - March, 2010)

we found recently the new menu to be boring and still pushing the Asian influence theme which is a bit old hat now. people want good portions and tasty quality food for a fair price we enjoyed our night because the senior waiter was <very handsome> just so friendly and professional.must ask his name if we try it again<?>hope the food gets better because it is a nice looking restaurant.   (lizzee - September, 2009)

After living in the local area for 7 years, not once had my husband and i ever dined at Citrus.

The food was delicious, service was attentive but not pushy, and the entire restaurant is filled with candles.

It was the perfect mid-week romantic dinner my husband and i needed. It exceeded all our expectations. I just wish we started going there years ago. But we are sure to keep going for years to come   (Nicole - July, 2009)

I think this place is great. Meal prices are good value for the quality and have always found the staff to be fantastic.

My girlfriend suffers from Fructose Malabsorbtion and the front of house and kitchen staff are very accommodating.

Have been recommending this place to my friends and after our last experience thought they deserve I share my experiences to a wider audience..

I had the pleasure of dining at Citrus Restaurant for a second time with my husband. Having had a few fine-dining experiences, I can honestly say that Citrus has been my favourite to date. We had the 3 course lunch and each of our meals left us salivating in anticipation of the next. The service was outstanding and the ambience lovely.   (Joan - March, 2009)

We returned to eat at Citrus after a couple of years absence, having heard that it was an improved place. Unfortunately we found it worse. It used to be a conservative restaurant with good service and reasonable but overpriced food. The decor is more sombre and unattractive, the staff not as good, and the food is much as before, but more expensive. I don't recommend it.   (Susan, Beaumaris - See my reviews (2) - February, 2009)

I would like to thank Citrus, waiters and the Chefs.

I had dinner on a Friday and the staff at Citrus made all the guests feel accommodated and relaxed. It seemed nothing was an effort. They were efficient and their manner was eager to please. Both young and old were delighted. The meals were delicious and could not be faulted. The wine was exquisite. The room was just perfect for our group.

Thank you again for such a wonderful night.

After so many fine meals in the past., this experience was a shocker and unexpected. Our meals were absolutely tiny - beyond nouveau cuisine & their accompaniments did not match the menu description. Still hungry at end.

Very sad to see they no longer carry their Citrus brand dry white wine too.

I had a wonderful experience at Citrus. The service was great as was the ambience. Our meals were excellent. We had the seafood tasting plate and the Canadian scallops for entree followed by the King George Whiting and the Grilled prime rib of beef with side salads. The desserts were the creme brulee and panacotta which were to die for. Highly recommend Citrus for any one who wants a great night out.   (April, 2008)
