I've been to The Conservation Hut a few times but after my last experience I'm not sure that I'll return. It's great location but the food was quite ordinary and the waitress was positively rude on each occasion that we spoke to her. I don't often complain but as I left I actually told the waitress how I felt. She seemed shocked and to her credit said it wasn't her intention to be rude. Nevertheless she was rude and the whole experience was unpleasant. I was really disappointed.   (Foodfeedback - See my reviews (2) - December, 2010)

On a visit to the Conservation Hut recently for afternoon tea, my friends and I were very disappointed with the experience.

The woman who waited on us was unfriendly, impatient and most unhelpful. I ordered the citron tart (after having been chastised for confusing the lemon cheese cake & the citron tart) It was the worst citron tart I have ever tasted. Basically, a lump of hard, cold pastry, with some commercial lemon butter inside. Inedible.

The coffee & the food that my friends had was fine but we all felt unwelcome and were very surprised at the inhospitable attitude of staff.

If there is a restaurant with a better view, I'd like to know about it. The food and the view here combines for an awesome way to start the day (we went for breakfast), with inventive takes on classic breakfast items - such as smoked trout hash, which was wonderful. The coffee is great, the service friendly and efficient, and the view....... can't be bettered. I'd recommend this any day, and if you go, sign the petition to allow them to open for dinner too, you can bet they'll do a great job.   (KMJ - June, 2009)
