I found the Cou Cou lounge while driving home from work and it looked like a comfortable spot so decided to stop for a bite to eat. I am glad I did.

To say the service was fantastic would be an understatement. The staff were a real joy, we had a quite few laughs (they understood my twisted sense of humor).

The food really outdid itself too, great value for money - the presentation, taste and freshness - my compliments to the chef. To finish with the perfect espresso was indeed the icing on the cake. I will definitely become a regular at this place. 10 out of 10!   (Sunny - May, 2009)

In its original incarnation in East Brisbane, breakfast at the Cou Cou Lounge was always a great treat. Good service, great eggs and great coffee.

In its current incarnation in Fortitude Valley, lunch at the Cou Cou Lounge was fairly disappointing. The service was fantastic however the food was pretty average and did not live up to the menu description at all. The iced coffee was probably the highlight of the meal and I most likely won't be dining here again.   (Kim - May, 2009)

Cou cou lounge has a great relaxed funky feel. It has a good variety of cocktails although it could have more of the classics. The food is good but the menu is in need of a shake up having dined there several times and been confronted with the same menu each time. Maybe a more seasonal approach is required. The biggest shortfall of cou cou lounge is its pricing, too expensive with the portion sizes too small for the price and the qualtiy is not that good to warrant such a price.   (Infectious - See my reviews (5) - February, 2009)

Went back to cou cou lounge on sat nite after a good first experience. Unfortunately I will not be going there a third time. Our party of 4 decided to order tapas & were horrfied when our tapas plate came out with our stuffed mushrooms ( which werent stuffed rather a very small teaspoon of cheese mixture placed in the middle. Our dissapointment was 1.5 mushrooms on a tapas plate @ $9.50 , yes 1.5 mushrooms. We asked our waither had some fell off the plate or did it not make it on the plate. We were very amused after our waiter explained that mushrooms are weighed.... What type of chef cuts something in half to send out to a paying customer especially a mushroom that costs $10kg ......   (banfield - August, 2008)

The Cou Cou Lounge is pretty cool considering its location beside a busy street and a car park!! The decor is funky and very comfortable but in winter perhaps a few more plastic sheets at the front onto Wellington Road would make the place a bit wamer and a bit more cosy. The waitresses were very nice. The 2 for 1 martinis were good but 2 for 1 cosmos or cocktails would have been heaps better. The pizzas were really good but the slices should have been catered for the number of guests sharing the food. eg. 3 people should have equated to 6 slices. The butterscotch crepes were divine! A cool little bar and a very easy way to book on-line. Thanks!!   (June, 2008)
