Our group of 7 'ladies' all had different dishes ,(June 10th evening) and all were superb. Much more than standard 'pub grub' as other reviewers have commented, and also vegetarians were well catered for. I must say that the sceptre's food has improved out of sight. It was always a safe bet but now we are talking exceptional. 5 star restaurant quality. I had dinner there last Friday night and it was fantastic. Our group was looked after by the waiter with respect and knowledge. Although it was really busy the food came out very quickly and the presentation was WOW! We got looked after with the wines as well with a few of the boys getting very excited about some of the special stuff on the list. Once we ordered desserts and the girls had a couple of fantastic cocktails from what can only be described as and epic list of classic drinks, we ventured out to the bar to be treated to some great service by the very talented and friendly staff.

Just a great way to spend my 40th birthday and all my friends loved it. Don't underestimate this little Adelaide Gem!......   (Joseph - May, 2010)

I recently ventured to the well known "Crown and Sceptre" and was very impressed by not only the extensive wines available by the glass including my favourite, French Gerwurztraminer but also the great Chef Specials. On this balmy night my partner and I decided to let the waitress help choose for us and wow were we given a gourmet treat. This is far from your local pub fare...We indulged in house made chicken pate, Crab Souffle, rabbit confit and a divine apple & butterscotch crepe. This place is such a hidden treasure...great service, great food, fantastic atmosphere...Keep it up!!!!! 10/10   (Elaine - April, 2010)

Jeez i keep trying to like this place but the arrogant staff keep letting this dump down. Yep bar staff who think they're too good for the customer! wow you have the largest spirit collection in the universe, just give me a drink! “Sorry but we are to busy to make that cocktail!” that’s mate!?! Why have it on your list! Gin and tonic with no lemon or lime?? Who’s training the staff. Sceptre you truly do disappoint   (See my reviews (2) - March, 2010)
