"Disappointing second visit - Entree and cheese platter were fine but main course not cooked properly and very ordinary. Service and food not up to standard of our 2006 visit."
"We had a great dining experience at the customs house hotel. the restaurant had a wonderful feel, showing off some of Tasmania's best and freshest seafood. The convict stone walls added to the ambience. we stayed in the 3.5 star accommodation and the breakfast, included in the cost was fantastic with the friendly staff only adding to the experience." more reviews

Local seafood dishes are very nice, but generally the bar next door interferes with the evening ambience somewhat. Very central to Salamanca Place. (blis777 - See my reviews (11) - October, 2008) Overall 6 - Food 8, Ambience 6, Value 5, Service 5
Food was excellent but pricey. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the service of staff due to being charged incorrectly for drinks and wrong desert being served - hence, the service needs to be improved. Apart from that I recommend the food. (August, 2008) Overall 6.5 - Food 7, Ambience 7, Value 6, Service 6
A cosy and comfortable modern restaurant near the waterfront, with a lovely wood fire burning when it's cold outside. Food was enjoyable and tasty, but servings were very small, even for the 'light meals' that we ordered (lunch 'main courses' were $20+). Service was generally halfhearted and initially very slow despite the restaurant not being busy (we waited 20 minutes before our orders were taken). Still, it is a nice place to catch up with friends. (CJ - See my reviews (51) - May, 2007) |
