The setting was very cosy and inviting. I started with the Dhu Fish Chowder while my wife had the bruchetta. Both were beautiful. For mains my wife had the Canarvon King Prawn Curry and I had the red emperor wrapped in proschiutto in a lemon reduction sauce.

We found the curry a little sweet not quite the authentic malay taste that we were hoping for. The red emperor was sensation. A terrific blend of flavours.

We shared a chocolate orange fondant for desert and again that was very nice.

The only let down for us was we found the place much too noisy. The noise came from the bar below and being a Friday evening it was very hard to have a conversation.

We would definitely go back but on a Monday or Tuesday night in the hope that it is not so noisy.   (August, 2008)

The Best of the Best... I may be a little bias!!!   (August, 2008)

Overall 9.5 - Food 10, Ambience 9, Value 9, Service 10

From the outset i was impressed. Going out for dinner in Perth usuall offers the same old, same old. I was very impresed with Deco and The Raffles as it is something new. It gives the average person, like myself, the feeling that I am better than I am. Surrounded by marble and that stylish decor, the service was friendly and even though I did not have the best view I believe I had received the same quality service as the table next to me who was drinking Dom Perion (buy the case). The food was wicked. Nice large pieces of fish cooked to perfection with none of that useless unedible jibber jabber that most restaurants put on their plates to try to impress the customer. I look forward to my next vist as it will be another experiance not just a dinner out in Perth.   (howtoimpressthegirls - March, 2008)

I thought the food was superb and the staff very friendly and attentive. Moderately overpriced, but worth a vist.   (See my reviews (15) - December, 2007)

"There are panoramic views but looking inward is the real sight to behold as an apparent cast of thousands – including a popular TV weatherman and some nuggety businessmen – pay homage to the 'P.O.E.T.S' anthem..."

"Perth's newest glamour restaurant refashions the glory of the Art Deco Raffles Hotel in a room that captures the sparkle and architectural pizza of that period... The wine list is extensive, with something for everyone..."

Anthea Loucas, Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide - November 2007
"It’s a large round table, edged with five plush chairs and a C-shaped booth seat. Balcony tables 41 and 42 are for intimate dining overlooking the river and Canning Bridge..."
