Traditional Turkish recipes - accumulated from and have influenced many neighboring cultures over the last five centuries - with a contemporary touch, using the best of Sydney’s produce.

Our daily changing menu is designed around the seasonal produce, creating variety of meze and larger dishes designed to share, representing different regions of Turkish Cuisine.

Our award winning restaurant ( 2011 Restaurant and Catering NSW Best specialty restaurant/2010 Inner west Courier- Best Restaurant – Inner West / 2010 Restaurant and Catering NSW Best Turkish restaurant, Sydney) is located in a traditional, old Victorian Mansion housing the ground level dining room, a leafy courtyard, a cozy wine and mezebar and upstairs private dining rooms.

Not what I expected. Meat was undercooked and the real Turkish food should be well done with the meat and very pricy.

Restaurant - excellent. Menulog booking - a failiure: I was trying to book on a Saturday night for the following evening and waited in vain to hear back after the initial email. Eventually I rang the restaurant and booked it myself.   (See my reviews (3) - September, 2010)

I have dined here for dinner and breakfast now. Both experiences were fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely check it out, especially if you like eggplants!   (altugd - See my reviews (2) - October, 2009)

Meze Journey was really lame, extremely small portions, unsatisfying. Felt the food was overpriced and mediocre.   (Efendy - Mediocre - See my reviews (2) - September, 2009)

Surprising Turkish menu -dishes not seen before and cooked to perfection. Lovely to find a relatively quiet restaurant in Balmain in beautiful Victorian mansion.   (See my reviews (2) - September, 2009)

Great food and service entrees and mains are very generous size portions. The veal dish was fantastic.

Turkish food does not get any better than this. It is so far away from the kebab shops of Auburn and Newtown> This is the real stuff as you would have at a nice restaurant in Istanbul or Izmir. As an expat spending thre years in Turkey I was impressed with the quality and authenticity - their take is definitely not Australianised cuisine - of the real taste of Turkey. Best Turkish restaurant I have ever eaten at. It is great value it cost us less than $50 perperson with 5 mezes to share, beef cheek for me ( which was divine), swordfish for my partner and a chocolate baklava to share. Food was very different than usual, and service was very attentive, top marks for this place, great for a date.   (bazaar - See my reviews (2) - January, 2009)

    • Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10

Certainly the best Turkish restaurant in Sydney, choosing mezes was so much fun and service was very friendly and courteous, it was packed on Sunday evening with mostly locals. Will be back for more.   (numero uno - See my reviews (2) - January, 2009)

Visited last Sunday night and the food was absolutely sublime.

For mains we had Pilic Topkapi (Halved, de-boned Windsor chicken, ic pilav filling on sautéed sweet pea and spinach) and Ordek Sarma (Shredded duck maryland stuffed vine leaves, spiced tomato yoghurt) both absolutely delicious.

Desert was chocolate baklava served with soured cherries and ice cream and the most delicate pudding called Keskul.

Turkish coffee and beautifully homemade Turkish delight completed a veritable feast!

The 5 star food was slightly let down by 3 star service (not much life in the front of house staff on this particular rainy Sunday night) but overall a very satisfying evening.

Will definitely be back.   (daddymac - See my reviews (2) - November, 2008)

Good Turkish food at a good price.

The service was efficient and the helpings generous.

They have a room upstairs for larger parties and catered very well for some work-related functions I have attended there for the past 18 months.   (Steak and kidney - See my reviews (2) - November, 2008)

    • Overall 7 - Food 7, Ambience 7, Value 7, Service 7

the entrees were awesome but the mains (beef cheek and lamb skewers) lacked any wow factor and were quite ordinary. The lamb skewer was one skewer with five or 6 pcs of lamb on a bed of hummous - pretty ordinary and definitely not great value for money. The service was quite attentive and the wine list fab!   (See my reviews (3) - October, 2008)

    • Overall 5.5 - Food 4, Ambience 6, Value 5, Service 7

Mezze was quite good, but mains were very disappointing, particularly given they are all around the $30 mark. My friend had lamb which was overcooked and the duck confit I had was similarly overcooked and very dry. Wouldn't go back.   (See my reviews (4) - September, 2008)

    • Overall 5.3 - Food 4, Ambience 6, Value 4, Service 7

The feeling of being constently watched (if not rushed) while trying to enjoy a night out. The duck was dry and the kitchen smelt of deep fried food. Not a receipe for a return visit.   (See my reviews (3) - September, 2008)

    • Overall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 10

Great, refreshing cuisine in a stylish ambience, great value as well we were there on Thursday night and the whole bill came under $100 including glasses of wine, can't wait to try the garden in summer   (chichipanda - See my reviews (2) - September, 2008)

Something different and original than the other restaurants in Sydney   (September, 2008)

    • Overall 6.5 - Food 7, Ambience 7, Value 7, Service 5

I went to this restaurant expecting a top class fine dining experience, certainly the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food is pretty nice, however the service was haphhazard and at times unprofessional. I had to ask to place an order and my drinks took a long time to arrive at the table. Considering the prices being charged i expected more from the staff, who seemed inexperienced and poorly managed.   (August, 2008)

    • Overall 7.3 - Food 9, Ambience 7, Value 8, Service 5

The food here is awesome, careingly spiced but different in unusual way, but certainly delectable. The staff are helpful but poorly managed and yet mostly Turkish. An enjoyable night, haphazard, but enjoyable.   (August, 2008)
