Took our staff to Xmas Dinner in Dec 2007, food was absolutely fantastic, service by mine hosts was exemplary. Great decor, it is most noticeable the detailed attention to finish in the decorating. Some refurbished hotels can look a bit ragged when you have a close-up look, but not the Empyre ! It was a bit on the expensive side, but without doubt we will return more than once, as we are now moving to Castlemaine.   (Shayne - January, 2008)

Our experience at the Empyre was none the less a fantastic evening and well worth the trip from Melbourne. What a magnificent building and tastefully refurbished. The food was not what we expected, it exceeded expectations. Stay the weekend the rooms up stairs are out of this world. Well be back soon!!   (Chon - July, 2007)

Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10

Excellent. Better than a lot of up market Melbourne and Sydney restaurants. Whilst a tad on the expensive side I don't mind paying a bit more if you get good food and service. In this case the price becomes less relevant if you enjoy and receive first class food and service in a very pleasant environment.   (May, 2007)
