Service was beyond horrible. To begin, my partner rang and advised them that I was a vegetarian and if this could be catered for. My partner was advised that they had a separate menu for vegetarians and to request it when we were seated. Therefore, once we got seated – we requested the menu only to be advised that it does not exist. The waiter simply advised that we can make 'pasta, vegetables or a salad'. I ordered the Napoli pasta (with fettuccini style pasta). The dish came out perfect and within 10 minutes.. only for the initial waiter to walk up and take the dish away without even asking if it was the correct order (WHEN IT WAS). He apologized and said another one would be out shortly, 10 minutes later another dish came out with prawns and other seafood. I simply said to the waiter, 'I don't eat seafood as I am a vegetarian, and am unsure why you took the first dish away as it was correct' only to be made to feel highly embarrassed by the waiters rude remarks. The restaurant had the decency to charge me $60 for the two pasta dishes, even though I did not request one! The manager came out, only to be highly racist about his staff, claiming that because of his ethnicity he was unable to hear and therefore only made us pay for one pasta dish. Finally, the manager said 'I hope you'll come back' – I would never, ever go back into the restaurant and am going to be writing a formal letter of complaint.   (ashleigh - October, 2011)

Went their last night for dinner for my birthday. The person who looked after the water was brilliant. The food was poor, my friend ordered the steak med rare but it was just a piece a steak, no flavour. I ordered the duck 2 ways but after a few bites it just tasted the same. The desert which me being Gluten Intolerant I could only have the brulee it was too soft and the top instead of being seared it was burnt.. My partner had jumbo prawns, just tasted like it had been cooked on a bbq. the meal had no taste, very disapointing, even though I was told they would cook a gf dessert for me next time if i give them more time, I will not go back. Eating food must be an experience of taste, this was just food no flavour.   (Setac - February, 2011)

My husband and I regularly dine at Escagrill.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate Dad's 82nd birthday because we wanted to share a great place with our family who had not been there before. As always, we were not disappointed. Domenic's warm welcome and greeting when we arrived with mum and dad set the mood for a great night. The staff are fantastic and the food is superb.

I would highly recommend Escagrill for dinner for 2 and now I can say funtion bookings.   (Elizabeth - February, 2011)

The perfect dining experience!!! Always our pick of restuarants for special occassions, announcements and gatherings. The very best oysters in town! Dominic always makes you feel like you have entered his home for an up market dinner party rather than a restuarant and Anthony the waiter has an uncanny memory for what you last ordered even if it was some time ago. I have had two private functions at the Escagrill and dined there once and each occasion was exceptional. An upclass restaurant without the price tag you will find in many lesser restaurants in the city.

This restaurant is my heaven. The food is spectacular and the host Domenic is so lovely and so very welcoming, it's like going to dinner with family that you really really love, but better! I love the amazing freshness of all of their seafood, and the new sourdough bread is enough to satisfy your tastebuds. The experience is one of pure joy and I love bringing new friends to join me and experience this wonderful restaurant. The chefs are amazing, the waiting staff impeccably charming and knowledgeable. I thouroughly enjoyed my Birthday dinner with them last night and know I will get 100% class when I dine there. Bravo Escagrill, you make Moonee Ponds an even better place than it was before you came aloong, you should be very proud. cannot speak more highy of this restaurant, we will return again and again and again......Kate.   (Esca perfect - March, 2010)

I recently dined at Escagrill for the 4th time. The food was exceptional as was the service. Dominic and his team really make every effort to welcome you and your patronage seems very valued.

The food is exceptional and very well priced for the quality. Some of the best seafood around!

I recently attended with group of friends. we were greeted at the door by the manager who showed us to our comfortable and stylish booth table. Fantastic and relaxed ambience, Great and even better service. The food served was amazing. It was served promptly even though it was a flat out saturday night. Great value for money given the standard of the venue. After dinner we were offered complimentary ports. What a great touch. A wonderful finish to a great night out. The food was fantastic and the service, even better. The manager greeted us at the door and we were then seated at our table. Our waiter was attentive, but didn't hover around, waiting for our orders. We have now celebrated 2 birthdays there and will be celebrating a third within the next month. Had booking at 7pm, did not receive main meals until 9.15pm. When I asked the doorman/mngr(?) if he knew the reason for the delay, he went to check in the kitchen and said another 3-4 mins we would have our meals. Well, 5 mins later the waitress said another 5 mins or so - we were less than impressed. It was a busy Sat night, but if they can't feed their customers, why bother booking them in??? NO apology had us all a bit peeved and we definitely won't be going back.   (nm70 - November, 2008)
