The Farmers Arms is a country pub with heart & soul. The heart is where real locals rub elbows with city folk in one of the friendliest bars in the country. The soul is a wood paneled dining room that "is one of the best foodie pubs in Victoria" (The Age Good Food Guide 2005).

Owners Simon Bevanda & Vanessa Kalamistrakis, with chef Andrew Dennis on the pans, have maintained a warm space with an inviting ambience serving modern Mediterranean cuisine featuring local, fresh produce and carefully selected regional & not so local wines.

We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. From the outside you don't expect too much, but it was a five star experience. We would definately go back to this restaturant.   (July, 2008)

A few green vegetables with the steak would have been nice.

The toilets were extremely dirty, cold and untidy and dampered our return visit to this good eatery.   (June, 2008)

"In a town renowned for its outstanding food and wine, this lively pub dining room attracts a local crows as well as keen interest from weekend interlopers... The wine list covers key Australian regions with an excellent range of local bottles..."

Anthea Loucas, Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide - November 2007
"It's still thumbs up for the Farmers Arms: the new, hands-on owners have run comparable good-food pubs in Melbourne, and the inspired chef and friendly floor staff have stayed on. The wine list, like the food, draws heavily on neighbouring regions."

Anthea Loucas, Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide - October 2006
"Convivial host Frank Moylan offers a daily changing menu of dishes of infinite ingenuity and variation, the common thread being the tantalising use of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean spicing and garnishes."

Anthea Loucas, Gourmet Traveller 2006 Australian Restaurant Guide - January 2006
