This was our first time at Fishbowl and we were very impressed. The warm welcome and pre dinner drinks at the bar set the scene for a great night out. Saturday 27th of March we decided to have a late dinner at the Fishbowl. Food was to an ok standard but I could not believe what I was seeing in the behaviour of who I can only assume is the owner.

Although seated next to a table for a 21st birthday we had an amazing night until the owner decided to scream abuse at a waitress loud enough for everyone in the restaurant to hear. In all my dining experiences I have never seen such disgusting behaviour displayed to a staff member in my life.

I am shocked and appalled by what I saw and heard coming out of the mouth of the owner. Never again will I dine at the Fishbowl Geelong and I will be telling everyone I know to avoid dining there at all costs.

The restaurant is beautiful the food has the potential to be amazing and the wait staff were a breath of fresh air in particular the waitress who was verbally abused in the reception of the restaurant.

I advise everyone to avoid this restaurant until the owners can learn to treat their amazing waitstaff with the respect they deserve.

This is our second visit and it was as perfect as the first. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was just amazing, so much flavour and so fresh. We had a window view of the ferris wheel and watched the sunset. Can't wait to go back.   (February, 2011)

I have been to fishbowl twice now. Once in December 2010 and then January 2011. Although in December the meal was enjoyable the Gumbo was so hot they had to serve it with rice and I had to have a glass of milk - there was no chilli mentioned in the discription. When we advised the waitress of how hot it was, there was no feedback from the chef at all, even after we emailed Fishbowl directly. Thought we would give it another go in January 2011. We had a table of 4 and had to wait 15 mins for menus and water (only received after we asked for them). We all ordered the same two dishes. The seafood chowder was served luke warm although very tasty and the seafood platter was so oily it spilt off the plate and onto one of our guests. Again we shared our concerns with the waitress, but again, no response. For the price would have preferred to go to the pub! Won't go back EVER!   (Two bad expericences! - January, 2011)

This experience was very disappointing. Starting with the waitressing telling us that we could not taste the wine as it was not corked because it was a screw top. The meal itself was extremely average that would make pub food look gourmet. We have also tried to provide feedback to the restaurant and have no response. This restaurant is not fine dining.   (Disappointing - November, 2010)
