Lunch with a cranky toddler and a baby was never going to go well but the owners really went out of their way to help us with colouring books and blocks for the kids.

Food was great, Wagyu steak and prawns were superb and the service fantastic. Would love to come back without the kids.   (brisboy - September, 2008)

Unfortunately quite a disappointing experience. I think Flames is suffering from an identity crisis as its charging restaurant prices for bistro meals...my steak was sitting on a clump of over boiled veges and potato and music was performed by a guy sitting down wearing a zip up cardy! Ambience is also severely lacking...too many big groups including hens parties with tables for couples surrounding these big groups means that conversation is nearly impossible.

The one saving grace was our waiter who was very helpful and knowledgable.   (See my reviews (2) - August, 2008)

The service was excellent. Food was enjoyable. there were promt and went to great pains to answer all our questions. Also we had a late booking and although there was no other people at the end, we did not feel at any time that we had to rush. We would certainly go again and will recommend it to all our friends   (August, 2008)

I had a small wedding reception held at Flames in Feb and cannot rate this place highly enough. The food was absolutely superb and the service and ambience was outstanding. Loved It!   (Outstanding - July, 2008)

I have never had a steak better than this!!! It was mouthwatering and suburb! The location is ideal and made for a romantic experience we thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend this restaurant.   (See my reviews (6) - May, 2008)

it was our wedding day and Flames on the river made it a day to remember for all right reasons. Our wedding party and ourselves agree that it was a wonderful experience and would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Keep up the great service. Thankyou Mr and Mrs Parai   (March, 2008)

This is the best restaurant on the coast. The service was fabulous, very friendly staff, the food was out of this world, very good and the price too. I've been telling everybody to go there.
