This place was amazing! We went on Easter Saturday and had a great time. The food was great, full of flavour and timely, the service was fantastic. Josh, our waiter, was one of the best we've had - he had some good suggestions which we went with and were not disappointed. We will definitely be back again

I went to flames on the river and found the food not that good at all food was cold the staff were cold the staff had no pride in what they were doing must have a new pizza chef because they are nowhere as good as they used to be it was like eating cold cardboard .but i think that the cardboard would of been nicer never again will they see me or my friends .what a waste of money and time .alot of my friends have being there and say the same thing .they must fo pay someone for the so call awards that they have .dosent ever come close to a one star restaurant

Flames on the River offered up the most dreadful service, rude staff, awful food and event coordination I have ever encountered. My friends chose Flames for their wedding reception venue and the entire Flames experience just about ruined the entire event. Their PA system didn't work and they didn't care - the MC and groom's brother spent most of the night fixing it. The food had no flavour. The staff didn't put on the slide show they'd agreed to. The staff were rude and unhelpful. The owner's daughter and her partner deemed it appropriate to use the photobooth the bride and groom arranged for their guests. They left the wedding cake out for an hour before serving it for dessert and didn't add any cream as agreed. Absolutely wretched staff and service. This might be scathing, but they seemed to go out of the way to ruin the most important day of these people's lives.

We have dined at Flames on The River 3 times now and everytime the service, ambience and food was excellent. The prawn and calamari dish done in the tajine is one of the finest dishes I have ever eaten. Thanks for a lovely evening - we'll definately be back next time we are in QLD.

We dined at Flames restaurant on Sat.3rd April 2010 and our group of 24 all saying how wanderful it was.I highly recommend this restaurant. Will definittly be back. Helen

Had my partner's birthday at Flames in the week end,we were a group of 30, and it was one of the best birthday parties we had, we enjoyed it a lot as well as all our guests, The food was very impressive, staff could not be friendlier or more informative, and the prices were just right. We ended up booking our wedding there and another one of our guests booked another event there too. Excellent, we'll be back

Loved having a pre-drink in the bar whilst waiting for our friends to arrive. then followed the drink with a fantastic night full of great food, ambience & service ended up booking our wedding reception there- the owners sat down with us and were happy to meet all our needs at a fantastic price- they took care of everything we need for the night- what a blessing Thank you flames =) ***** 5 Stars

The service was excellent.The Food was excellen. The Ambiece is very romantic . We would certainly go again and will recommend it to all our friends .

went to a friends wedding there which was presented beautifully- mouthwatering food- excellent service- just perfect. have been going back to flames regularly since. lovely family business , very pleasant atmosphere right on the river & very reasonable prices ranging from $15. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED will definitely be back

We found the food we have were average but not that delicious as we expected. However, the environment is very romantic and the customer service was excellent.

Lunch with a cranky toddler and a baby was never going to go well but the owners really went out of their way to help us with colouring books and blocks for the kids. Food was great, Wagyu steak and prawns were superb and the service fantastic. Would love to come back without the kids.

Unfortunately quite a disappointing experience. I think Flames is suffering from an identity crisis as its charging restaurant prices for bistro meals...my steak was sitting on a clump of over boiled veges and potato and music was performed by a guy sitting down wearing a zip up cardy! Ambience is also severely lacking...too many big groups including hens parties with tables for couples surrounding these big groups means that conversation is nearly impossible. The one saving grace was our waiter who was very helpful and knowledgable.

The service was excellent. Food was enjoyable. there were promt and went to great pains to answer all our questions. Also we had a late booking and although there was no other people at the end, we did not feel at any time that we had to rush. We would certainly go again and will recommend it to all our friends

I had a small wedding reception held at Flames in Feb and cannot rate this place highly enough. The food was absolutely superb and the service and ambience was outstanding. Loved It!

This is the best restaurant on the coast. The service was fabulous, very friendly staff, the food was out of this world, very good and the price too. I've been telling everybody to go there. Thanks Flames.

Enjoyable evening with great service and a fantastic view. Very inexpensive, food was mouth watering and served with style and care. Well worth the money spent. The Hosts were very welcoming. Will definittly be back.

I recently got married and hosted dinner for 20 people here in December 2007 and was very disappointed with the outcome especially after the amount of time we spent discussing the menu with the owners of Flames. I'd arranged for a set menu of 2 entrees and 3 mains for my guests to chose from, but was informed on the night that the choices would be served alternately, when this was clearly not the agreement made. In fact, the words "alternate meals" had never once been mentioned. To add insult to injury, our table was staffed by the most arrogant and rude waiter who offended at least 5 of my guests turning what was meant to be a happy occasion for me and my husband into a bit of a nightmare. The onwers did act by removing him from our table and the replacement was a most amiable and friendly young man. The food was excellent but it was a shame that confusion about the menu soured the night for us. I would recommend that if you take a large party here to be very clear as to how your meal is structured.

My family and I dined at the restaurant on Christmas day. It was such a lovely meal with very efficient and attentive staff. Such good value as well, most restaurants were charging double to what we paid. Also it was table service, which was very much appreciated, rather than being buffet. The water views from the alfresco dining area were wonderful and added to an overall very impressive venue. Not forgetting the live music, not too loud which made it easy to still have a conversation yet be aware of the lovely tunes. I will have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to friends and we will definately dine here again. On a closing note must make mention of the "fork trick" the waiter showed us.....very clever!
