George Francisco - George’s wealth of experience in World culinary delights (after working in San Francisco’s top restaurants including
Farallon & Sydney’s Dish Restaurant & now Jonah’s at Whale Beach) is an enormous addition to Bonville & the greater
Coffs Coast as the region continues to become more and more known as a wonderful food & wine destination of NSW.
George has already given the Coffs Coast a taste of things to come with the 7 course degustation dinner last October as the
launch to the 2006 Coffs Coast Food & Wine festival, which was an enormous success. Jonah’s at Whale Beach is an iconic
restaurant & is also one of Sydney’s best after being award a ‘Hat’ in the recent 2007 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food
Guide which recognises the best restaurants in NSW each year. It is one of only 2 ‘hatted’ restaurants on the magnificent
northern beaches of Sydney.

What a place. When you drive in the main entrance to the property you have to pinch yourself as you may think that you have died & gone to heaven - im not even religious. My wife & i are mad golfers & travel the country & the asia pacific region for top quality accommodation, food & wine & of course golf & this is by far the best golfing resort we have stayed at and will be back each regularly for years to come. Dinner is the pick of the bunch but breakfast is great as well. Most of the resorts we stay at have buffet breakfasts but Bonville has a la carte service and is wonderful - the view in the morning is second to none.   (hsv2007 - November, 2007)

A wonderful meal & equally impressive wine to match. I started with the fresh local oysters then moved onto the duck, what a great combination. The flavours in the duck dish were AMAZING. whilst the food was to die for and the envy of any Sydney Restaurant, the higlight of the meal was the wide selection of wine to complement any food matching one wishes to acheive. The gentelman serving my husband & i informed us that the restaurant wad just won a major wine list award. This didnt suprise us as the list had some superb drops on there.

You must dine in this restaurant if you are anywhere near Coffs Harbour. We even had Kerrie Ann Kennerley at the table beside us.   (polasz6 - August, 2007)

Wow. What a view & what impecibale service, oh and the food was 10/10 as well. A great restaurant and one of the best dining experiences in recent memory for my partner & i. Todd our witer was an absolute delight. He was very knowledgeable & very funny. The golf at the resort is again 10/10. I will definately be back.   (Mr Edwards - August, 2007)

The Flooded Gums was a delightful experience. My partner & I stayed at the resort and dined in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner for 3 days. They say some Sydney restaurants are great any day of the week but this place is devine, looking over the golf course with a glass of wine or bubbly watching the world go by all whilst being waited on by the great staff, now thats the life for me. The golf is great as well and I'm not even a golfer.   (Mr Kemp - July, 2007)

Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10

This restaurant is a must for any food lover. The view is amazing - overlooking the award winning golf course, they say it's Australia' most beautiful and I have to agree 100%. The service is excellent with the staff tending to my every need. The food is the best I've seen outside of Sydney with a great selection of mouthwatering dishes and of course local Coffs Coast seafood, no wonder they have won the title of Best Restaurant in a Resort for the last 4 years. I have to suggest 3 courses with a nice bottle of wine before retiring to the accommodation at the resort. Deserves more than 10/10 and the Flooded Gums deserves all the awards thaey have won.   (Foodlover - January, 2007)

"Set in a Federation - style club-house overlooking the golf course this was awarded Best Restaurant in a Resort 2003, by the Restaurant and Catering Association for the Northern Division. There is accommodation, and the restaurant rant grows much of its own produce in the orchard and extensive herb and vegetable garden. "
