Host did not know who I was when I arrived and then it dawned on him and he asked the question am I the one from Menulog in front of my bewilldered guest. Not good.

I was not extended the special offer that I took up, another problem   (At Ease - See my reviews (2) - June, 2010)

On arrival did not have my name in his book however did make reference to "are you the one who booked with menulog" in front of my guest and did not offer "best ever meal deal or did I receive such, which was booked with menulog" Presented bill at around 10.45pm with me not asking for it, he needed to close the doors i guess.   (At Ease - See my reviews (2) - May, 2010)

My husband and I were visiting from Canberra and we were looking for a lovely night out with great food - in walking distance from our accommodation. Food and Plonk did a super job and providing us with a really wonderful night! The food was excellent, and the service was exemplary. Our waitress was most professional and pleasant. If we are up in Sydney we will be back! Highly recommended!!!   (July, 2009)

The food was superb. The aged steak I chose was the best steak I have ever tasted. I adored the duck parfait and my dessert was just bliss. My husband also enjoyed each of his courses. We both thought the presentation of the food was delightful. I must make mention of the service which again was excellent. Courteous, helpful, attentive. Most pleasant young folk who watched the room, were there when needed but were not intrusive in any way. Congratulations for being so pleasant and helpful. Really nice owners also on the floor. A restaurant to be proud of.   (margaret-anne - November, 2008)

      what a surprise!

staff were friendly even though busy and made us feel very welcome. Sorry michael don't know what happened to you!?

For what we paid the food was fantastic. Definately will be returning often.   (deejay - February, 2008)

    • Overall 5.3 - Food 6, Ambience 6, Value 5, Service 4

Pretentious, pushy. Over priced. We were allowed to dine there by the grace and favour, but we were told we had to hurry. Food did not match the price and staff showed all the attributes that made it clear that some patrons were better than others and that all staff were better than all patrons   (Michael - December, 2007)

Lovely restaurant nestled on the North Shore suburb of Lindfield. Close to public transport and easy enough parking. Beautiful setting with discreet netted curtains so one doesn't feel like a fishbowl! Though a little crowded, hats off to the staff who precariously serve and set cutlery gracefully about on the floor. Menus are elegant with elegant food to match though wasn't sure about the pasta matched with the prosciutto wrapped blue cod. Nevertheless, the James Bond martinis went down well and there was a little mix up with the white wines ordered. Overall, great experience and loved the presentation of the food as well as the crockery. Beware, it does add up in your pocket in term so pricing but compared to most Sydney restaurants offering similar menus and service, this isn't too outrageous. Child friendly but thanks goodness not screaming children about.   (See my reviews (4) - April, 2007)

    • Overall 8.3 - Food 10, Ambience 7, Value 9, Service 7

Food excellent, the ambience good although a little noisy, food well presented and extremely tasty, service good although a little non existent. But overall I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and will be back!   (wiil mutter - February, 2007)

An overpriced con job on Sydney diners. Never again.   (ripoff - February, 2007)

I had the 'Best Meal' I have had on the north shore since moving here 2 years ago and I am now a regular customer of food and plonk the food is very well presented and tastes top draw also they have gone to the trouble of matching great wines with each course so if your like me and take ages deciding what wine to choose trust their recommendation as I did and you most certainly won't be let down.   (Deborah Western - January, 2007)
