Sick and tired of overpriced and overvalued sea food restaurants I surfed the net and stumbled across Gionanni's@Birrong. After reading the review of 3 customers my wife and I decided to give this place a try. It was a typical small club restaurant, nothing to flash but clean and family friendly. I had fresh king prawns in a chili and white wine napoletana sauce (8 prawns) 14.90, there were actually 11 prawns, I suppose as they were just a little on the smaller side and garlic bread (just 2 slices of ordinary white bread) and chips, my wife had the 320g a grade Scotch Fillet marinated & cooked in a pink and slightly spicy sauce, then topped with five brandy-aromatised king prawns, served with chips or vegetables 23.90. All the food was absolutely fresh, very flavoursome and top quality. We missed out on sweets as they were all sold out. The young lady serving us was trying very hard and pleasant. As we were leaving we saw the owner/chef at the counter and had no hesitation to express our satisfaction to him and we can highly recommend his meals to anyone.

We traveled 33 km each way and are willing to repeat this on a regular basis just to enjoy Giovanni's skillfully prepared and excellent tasty cuisine with Italian influence.
