"The service at this place was terrible, we waited an hr for the main course, and then made the mistake of ordering coffee which took another 40mins to arrive. The food was over priced for what we got and the staff were very rude."
"I went to Gogo's with a table for 10 and we were offered a worthy $40 banquet. The food was fantastic, service was brilliant and drinks came spot on. The waiter who suggested the banquet was really friendly and i should say is a good salesman. I would definitely recommend his place. Will be there soon" more reviews

The service at this place was terrible, we waited an hr for the main course, and then made the mistake of ordering coffee which took another 40mins to arrive. We were a bit disappointed with the 20 minute wait for a table even though we had booked! Then we were shoved in a cold corner of the restaurant and were given very little attention by the wait staff.....I think because we had our children with us (they were impeccabley well behaved I'm proud to say!) We felt that because we weren't 'someone' we weren't given the treatment we'd been hearing about. To be honest, I wouldn't dine there again and I don't think the food was all that it's made out to be. The restaurant has a great collection of cricket memorabillia and that's the thing we enjoyed the most about it. Food was very, very,,,average! (ronnie - See my reviews (6) - July, 2008) Very nice and enjoyable. Drink service was exceptionally quick. Great ambiance..the place was very very quaint and we would definately return again soon. (madras - June, 2008) 8 of us dined at Go Go Madras Curry House on Saturday 21st June 2008. I had wanted to try this restaurant out for a while after hearing that the Indian cricket team love it. I was a bit apprenhensive about going as I had been reading some of the reviews on the internet and even though most of the people had said the food was good, they all had said the service was poor. Arrived with my group of friends for a booking at 8.00pm and was told the table was not quite ready. As I half expected this I asked them how long (realistically) would it take for the table to be ready. I was told 15 to 20 mins. As the area at the front of the restaurant was quite small, and some people were trying to pay the bill at the same time, (only one reception desk and one person dealing with bookings and payments), it was getting quite hectic. I suggested to my friends to pop next door for a drink at the Queens. We came back at 8.30pm and the table was still not ready. We thought that having a joke with the girl (Go Go's wife), and telling her what a wonderful job she was doing would get us in quicker! There was also lots of other people waiting for their 8.15pm table! Again the area was quite hectic. I think our tactic worked as we were soon shown our table. We chose 8 mains and a couple of rice and some naan bread (which is to die for). Everything tasted beautiful, but some of the dishes are quite small. Corkage is steep at $8.50 a bottle, but we only drank two. We also ordered a couple more dishes as we were all quite hungry by this time. All in all it worked out about $35 dollars each which I thought was preety good. P.S The eggplant dish is amazing and so is the lamb cutlets. (June, 2008) good night good company good food excellent service will go back again buffet was good value and plenty of it (See my reviews (4) - June, 2008) Paying more attention to small groups and not large ones would lift the service level to match the food. (June, 2008) a really great indian resturant. we will definitely be going back (See my reviews (2) - June, 2008) Well we never made it to order! we should have know when we booked on the phone earlier in the week. Rudeness then and still rude when we arrived. We had booked for between 15 and 18 people. 13 of us arrived, we were told we had to pay for the extra 5. We negotiated it to the 15 but still they were rude so we got up and left! Would not recommend for a large group. Another group of friends had booked for 20 and 26 turned up, so sharing of plates and chairs. Not on!! (Sarah - June, 2008) Totally agree with last review (28 March 2008). The quality of food was good but not up there as expected, have had better in less well known indian restaurants. The service was absolutely crappy, waiter was obviously bored and rolling his eyes in head when taking orders (think he was owner of restaurant) and no service in between ordering of food and food being brought to our table. Had to harass staff to be served and they were not very happy or enthusiastic. Ambience of restaurant poor as very bright lighting in area we were seated in. Also corkage charge of $8 per byo bottle outrageous. Won't be going there again. (Yvonne B - April, 2008) |
