Honestly, what a little gem this place was!

My family decided to spend a weekend break on (gorgeous) Bribie Island, and the staff at our hotel recommended The Golden Gallery as it was "where so many of the locals choose to eat". I have to highly recommend booking a table in advance on a weekend if you intend to dine in! The waitresses were warm and friendly, and chatty with many customers who appeared to be regulars (so the hotel staff were quite right). Generally the serving size of meals is HUGE and very great value for money. We had a mixed entree - very satisfying and presented nicely also.

The chicken chow mein was loved all round - lots of vegies, chicken and crispy noodles. Mongolian lamb on a sizzling platter was addictive for my husband - I have to admit it was very, very good. Boneless lemon chicken was fabulous also. But I MOST HIGHLY urge you, if you ever visit, to try the Stir Fried Shredded Beef Peking Style. I've not tasted anything like it and it was amazing and loved all round the table.The fried rice was a tad dry, but everything else more than made up for it. Oh and I expected them to be licenced, but they are a BYO, so come prepared.

Sigh...I was naughty (but on holidays so it doesn't count) and ordered take away from Golden Gallery the very next night from our hotel, and the girl on the phone said it would only take 10 mins. And it did!

I might have to stop gushing now, but I was impressed with this little place and a break on the Bribie beaches was just what the doctor ordered.   (Golden Gallery Bribie Island Very High.. - February, 2007)
