It is Better to die than to be a coward’ is the motto of the world famous Gurkha Soldiers.

The term Gurkhas is traditionally used to describe the men of Nepal who serve as soldiers in the armies of Nepal, Britain, or India. The word Gurkhas originated from Gorkha, one of the districts west of Nepal, where king Prithivi Narayan Shah reigned early 17th century. He had very strong, loyal, tough and devoted Gorkhali armies from whose contribute he succeeded in uniting Nepal into one kingdom around 1768-69 AD.

"4/8/09 Last night we ate at Gurkhas Brunswick. Because the menu was very strange to us we tried the $20 sample platter. The soup was excellent but very spicy, and the Khasiko Masu (goat dish) was OK but there was a lot of gristly meat. The Singada (curry puffs) had very heavy pastry which spoiled them. The remainder of the items had mixed appeal to us and the Roti was tough. The experience was.."

Last night we ate at Gurkhas Brunswick. Because the menu was very strange to us we tried the $20 sample platter. The soup was excellent but very spicy, and the Khasiko Masu (goat dish) was OK but there was a lot of gristly meat. The Singada (curry puffs) had very heavy pastry which spoiled them. The remainder of the items had mixed appeal to us and the Roti was tough. The experience was however worthwhile and seemed to be great value but unfortunately this style of food was not our thing.
