The order took about 1 hour 20 minutes to arrive and was missing several items. When we rang to discuss they commented that they now have a different menu. They gave us a print out of what was ordered, so I would have thought it would have been practical to ring us and tell us they were making changes to our order, not just substituting or taking it off completely. Have never had a problem with Menulog, we enjoy the service and find it great, but we would never order from Gurkas again.   (Nicole - February, 2010)

I've been patronising Gurkha's since 2003 when they were at Lygon Street. After they opened a few years ago at Flinders Street I switched over as they were closer to where I lived and their food was as delicious as the Lygon's branch.

However, this is my first time ordering online through Menulog as I can be quite shy over the phone. Once I ordered online (a painless experience!) I got an email and a phone sms about the delivery confirmation.

Before I could even finish a short shower I already had someone buzzing the doorway.

They were polite and delivery was speedy.

Food was wrapped and packed securely to prevent any smash ups or unfortunate spills, coming with 2 large pappadums to dip with the curries.

Their portions are generous and their dishes are rich with spices and taste without being too overpowering like many Indian dishes.

Some must trys - Kukuma Krim (Chicken Cream), Eggplant & Potato (Baigan Aloo), their masala rotis which are thick and stuffed with spiced potatoes, Momo dumplings are a curious mix of Chinese style dumplings stuffed with Indian spiced potatoes/meat which are a very "fun fact" dish, probably influenced by the two cultures being in the middle.

Another great dish is the garlic prawns. It comes with a small serve of rich. Curry puffs are also great, comes with a dipping sauce and a minute side of salad.

If the next order brings the same quality - I'll surely be using Menulog and ordering Gurkhas for a very long time.   (Yuffie - See my reviews (3) - November, 2009)
