Wine List
Local
Coolangatta Estate Alexander Berry Chardonnay, 2005: from fruit grown just up the highway and made in the Hunter with subtle French oat treatment to achieve a finely flavoured wine with melon and mineral overtones.
Coolangatta Estate Semillon, 2005: this wine is excellent with citrus and lime flavours and drinks very well with seafood.
Varietal
House Sauvignon Blanc a Blend from Victorian wineries, 2006
Pewsey Vale, Eden Valley, Riesling, 2005: an excellent high altitude cool climate wine showing the complexity and flavour of well grown riesling.
House Chardonnay, Victoria, 2005
House King Valley, Pinot Gris, 2005
Mesh Eden Valley Riesling, 2006: produced from eden valley grapes by jeffrey grosset and robert hill-smith, an iconic wine from Australia's best riesling area.
Hardy's Padthaway, Unwooded Chardonnay, 2004: a cool climate chardonnay with typical peach, lemon and tropical fruit flavours.
Oyster Bay, Marlborough NZ, Sauvignon Blanc, 2006: a fine example of New Zealand's premium variety, elegant crisp and flavoursome.
Lillydate Chardonnay, 2006: stone-fruit and citrus flavours dominate this superbly textured palate. Clean, fresh acid provides support and length for the elegant oak characters, while the mid palate core of fruit exhibits excellent flavour to the finish.
Blends
Peter Lehmann, Barossa, Semillon Chardonnay, 2004: from the International wine make of the year. This wine is excellent with seafood and Asian flovours combining the best of chardonnay and semillon varieties.
Rose
Devil's Lair, Fifth Leg, Margaret River, 2005: shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, giving good length and fun flavours.
Reds - Locals
Coolangatta Estate, Eileen, Cambourcin, 2004: the vanillin oak makes a nice complex easy drinking red.
Coolangatta Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2005: this is a generous cooler climate red drinking wine which goes well with our lamb, emu and duck dishes.
Reds - House Wines
House Shiraz, 2005: sourced from victoria's wine regions
Reds - Varietals
Peter Lehmann, The Futures, Shiraz, 2003: showing 18 month French oak treatement and plummy fruit flavours.
Seppelt, St Peters, Grampians, Shiraz, 2004: this is a great generous shiraz with blackberry flavours from a great season.
Coldstream Hills, Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley, 2005: using French oak to fill out the cherry, plum and blueberry fuit, a soft drinking style.
Lindemans, Pyrus, Shiraz, Coonawarra, 1999
Henry Lawson, Shiraz, Mudgee, 2002: a highly awarded wine with generous fruit and good toasty oak treatment.
Saltram "Mambre Brook", Barossa, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2002: drinking well, with the complexities of French and American oak and excellent forest berry flavour length.
Penfolds Bin 407, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2003: inspired by penfolds Bin 707, Bin 407 offers varietal definition. It highlights the rewards of penfolds multi-region, multi-vineyard blending, with a core of ripe fruit supported by French and american oak.
Rockford Black Shiraz: rockford embraces the inherent qualities of old vine shiraz: full-bodied, mouthfilling, very dry.
Reds - Blends
Yalumba, Hand Picked Shiraz + Viognier, 2004: using Barossa fruit fermenting the two varieties together to create a rich fruity easy drinking wine with a hint of apricot on the pallet.
Wirra Wirra, Chruch Block McLaren Vale, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, 2004: carly's favourite here on her request, showing good French oak and delightful flavour.
Penfolds Bin 389, Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz, 2002: aged in American oak with a firm finish. The 389 is back on the bigger fruity blend style track and a favourite of all of us thoughtful wine drinkers of the 60-70's.
