Wonderful experience. It was our anniversary and we felt very welcome and special. The food was superb and the wine list was excellent. l   (March, 2008)

My New Year's resolution is to be more vocal about public praise or denouncement of restaurants. For mine, Harvest is extremely hit and miss. There are some noteworthy positives such as the ambience, the physical setting and the food. However, it irks me that they don't do eggs the way you want it as "harvest is proud of their menu and the way they prepare meals so there will be no adjustments to the dishes" or something to this effect. I'm sorry but, people are particular about the way their eggs are cooked. Next is the attitude of some of the waitstaff. They tend to either be timid or display this attitude of piousness. One of my breakfast companions asked for the potatoes to be left off her plate. The waitress replied "I'm sorry, we don't do that, you'll have to take it off yourself". Go figure. Next, 2 drinks we ordered never came. Perhaps the most insulting incident was when my companion complained about her side of bacon, which was under cooked and luke warm. Any Hungry Jack's employee knows that bacon needs to be fried and coloured well. Anyhoo, my companion complained to the timid waitress who looked frightened to tell the chef. Anyway, moments later the manager or something like that came out to inquire to the complaint. Fair enough. Except he then went about making my companion feel ignorant by saying "well bacon is actually a cooked product so it isn't raw and you are complaining that it didn't have enough colouring". My companion had to defend her complaint to the point that she had to say "look, I wasn't happy with the product". At this point the manager refunded the cost of the bacon which is to his credit. To top it off they didn't do split payment ie. some cash and some on eftpos. This is acceptable as a consistent policy except I've been there when they have accepted it.   (Pozman - February, 2008)

a bit too busy for the number of staff attending, however, a great, comfortable night out with amazing dishes.   (See my reviews (4) - August, 2007)

"Tucked away in a rustic cottage off North Freo's main drag, Harvest oozes bohemian charm which translates into food that punches well above its weight... All in all, a real charmer..."

Anthea Loucas, Gourmet Traveller 2008 Australian Restaurant Guide - November 2007
"Clint Nolan offers seasonal peasant fare and exquisite international wines..."

Gail Williams, Sunday Time - August 2007
"The tone is set by the menu note 'all prices include goverment intervention'. The wine list is refreshingly different, contains many gems that are rarely seen, and is fairly priced, even if there aren't many wines by the glass. Service is thoughtful, friendly and efficient."

Anthea Loucas, Gourmet Traveller 2007 Australian Restaurant Guide - October 2006
