Hog's Breath Cafe - Richmond

  , i dined at the Richmond nsw store tonight with my partner we live in sydney city and its a 3 hour return train trip and we had come to the richmond hogsbreath especially just to dine at that particular location as we heard it was great and had previously dined at many hogsbreath in different locations and the service from both staff and management from the richmond location was terrible, it started off bad and got worse. I had made an booking directly to the store via email for tonight at 630pm with my name and number and got a confirmation i was booked, by Tony Scriven, well my partner and i turned up and they didnt have a booking for us and nothing was in their books, i showed them my email on my phone and lucky i had it cause the seating person did find a table for us, after apologizing to us.so thankfully they did as it was starting to get busy. We sat down and then got questioned by the manager(he was nice and pleasant though dont get me wrong) after a few minutes of being seating asking had i made a booking and i showed him my email i received from him confirming and said he had remembered my email and then went off to do something, no apology from him, and so we did have a server take our order pretty quickly (the servers were nice as well so their manner was nice but overall service is not great,but that's when it became worse, we ordered 2 burgers, - cheese burger and a chicken burger, no entrees and 2 coke zeros thats all, the drinks came quick, but after waiting 1 HOUR FOR 2 BURGERS we had to waive a server from another section,asking if they could find out why after an hour our meals still hadnt come out, and she went to check, then after 5 more mins our meals came out, so 65mins for 2 burgers? what was rather disturbing that 3 other tables (who were groups of 4) who had been seated 45 mins after we had been seated had ordered and got their meals within 15 mins and we were still waiting, but wat was upsetting was that the manager had walked past our table back and forth many times - we were sitting near the front of the restaurant near where people had to wait to be seated so he could see us, plus there was the other servers had walked past served the table behind us but didnt check on us, by this stage of waiting for our meals we hadnt been asked if we wanted any more drinks- which i had wanted a cocktail but couldnt ask anyone , and the manager looked over numerous times and could see we didnt have food, nor was asked, and then finally getting our meals the original server has finally bought our meals over and i had said" finally our meals after an hour" she mumbled something and said sorry and then went off to help other customers without asking if we had wanted more drinks. Our meals were delicious as they have always been at hogsbreath which is why we love hogsbreath so much, great value and yummy food.   came in last night friday the 23rd of march at about 6pm. Our waitress brittany was lovely but appeared to be the only person looking after any of the customers. 2 other staff were there but did not look happy or helpful. Brittany gave our children balloons too, which made their day.

  The food was quick, tasty and cooked to perfection, however i think slightly overprieced.

  Overall yummy food, excellent waitress but lack of energy and excitment from what appeared to be 2 more senior staff hindered the night   (Linda - March, 2012)

  Came for lunch on thursday the 9th. Food was delicious but to overpriced. Our waiter, Brittany, was fantastic. She was very friendly and helpful. It was a lovely dining experience and we will definately be back. We will make sure we bring another discount coupon because otherwise it is too expensive.   (Narelle - June, 2011)

  This is my most favouritest Hogs Breath Cafe in the whole of Sydney! The wait staff are fantastical, fun, helpful, cheery and professional The food divine, you can eat on the balcony or in a private room depending on the amount of pple in your group, and then you can do downstairs to play pool or dance to the jukebox at the Clarendon Hotel. The view from the balcony is lovely .. This place is awesome!   (RoseT - March, 2010)

  Sat night booking for 6.30pm 17th may 07 Name Dunk We were seated and didnt see a wait person for 20 mins so I got up and went to the bar and got our drinks. Another 20 mins passed and my husband flagged down a wait person to take our order. Children were becoming very stressed and hungry. He went and got another wait person who asked us if we would like to skip our entree and go straight to main. We said no. She took our orders for entree and main and then said she could bring the childrens meal out with our entree if we would like. We said that would be great as they were getting cranky. The entree came out within 15 mins minus the childrens meal. Whiile we were still eating the entree only 5 mins, the mains came out and the kids meal. So by the time we started our main it wasnt hot. We finished our food and waited for someone but no one came so after 10 mins waiting my husband flagged down someone again. We asked for some icecream as our daughter had the kids meal and this is included. Another 20 mins went by and no icecream came. By this time we were really upset. A waiter even stopped by and asked us if the icecream had came and we said no so he went away I assumed to get our waitress but no one came.

  We decided to leave and take our daughter to Macdonalds to get her ice cream. We even had to pay for her softdrink in the beginning at the bar after I served myself. She never got the drink that was included. My husband bit his tongue and I sent him to the car while I paid the bill and the Manager asked me how our meal was. I said the food was okay but the service was absolutely disgusting. He did not ask why or what had happened. He just told me how much to pay and said sorry we are 3 people down tonight. This is an appauling excuse for such a big restaurant. Im sure such a well know busy restaurant can handle things when people dont turn up or you phone in replacements. I will be letting head office know of our bad service. I still cannot believe how we were treated. We dont go out very often being a family so when we do its a big deal.
