We always come back to Hot Pipis when in town. The team are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. As always my husband went for the Curry, as wonderful as ever he tells me. I had Barramundi this time & it was a lovely, well portioned meal. Kids were well looked after with a children's menu that has been updated to include more healthier options. Love the location, love the food and so appreciate that the staff are considerate & friendly even when they are so rushed off their feet as they were the night we dined. We holiday on the sunshine coast 3 times a year and have always visited Hot Pipi's during each stay and that unfortunately is where it will end. Their famous seafood curry is no longer the thick, rich creamy curry with bite that it was, now a runny make at home soup, at least the seafood was cooked well enough. We also ordered the risotto which I was told was dry and bland and the rack of lamb was a very small serving. The service was good enough unfortunately the food let it down, if the chef has moved on I would love to know where!!!   (April, 2009)

We had to wait half an hour and ask 3 times before our ordered bottle of Champagne was delivered. Other than that the service was good. The seafood curry was everything they claim - awesome. I had the chicken risotto which was a bit on the dry side. The gluten free menu was extensive and a pleasing change for a coeliac.   (April, 2009)

Restaurant response - We appreciate your review as it helps us to maintain our standards and improve where possible. Whilst we are very pleased to see that you rate our food and service highly, I was disappointed that you felt the servings were quite small. Generally most guests find it difficult to leave room for dessert, but having said that, all guests have varying views on small and large servings.

I took a small group of people from work for b'fast and I pre-ordered everyones meals but they still took 30mins to cook and be served. The manager organised a set menu and for $10 each we got a meal, tea/coffee and juice. Fantastic value! Everyone commented that they enjoyed their tasty b'fast. They all loved the ambience as the morning was a bit chilly but we were seated in the warm sunlight. We have since been back for the same fantastic b'fast, service, ambience and value.   (Veronica - April, 2008)

We had a dinner Saturday night for my birthday. For an entree we shared the Seafood tasting plate. It was delicious and very filling. We could have eaten a lot more of the oysters. For mains, I had intended to order the snapper but luckily, I asked about the meal and was informed that it was a whole snapper, which I am sure would have been a lovely meal, but too much for me. My husband orded the Eye Fillet and I decided to do the same. I was so pleased that I did, the steak was perfectly cooked medium, just the way we like it, and it was served with seven different oven roasted vegetables including beetroot roasted.presentation was excellent. It was delicious. We then shared a dessert, a Rocky Road Creme Brulee-YUM..The girl who looked after us was very efficient and very nice, the ambience was good, a bit noisy as there was a wedding party upstairs but it did not bother us. Prices are high but the food was so good, wine was great, and we did not walk away hungry.
