    What kinds of things would you expect if you were to travel to Japan? Yes, you'll find these things in Japan, but they are only parts of the culture. Like any other country, Japan also has a more casual and fun side to its culture and this is what Iku Yakitori is all about.

    Yakitori, chicken skewers barbecued right in front of you, is one of the most popular restaurant and bar foods in Japan. It can be an ideal snack between a cold beer or two. Eaten in combination with other items from our menu, including barbecued seafood and vegetables and a variety of salads and pickles, Yakitori can become a substantial and healthy meal. Yakitori is traditionally ordered in numerous small portions during a meal, much in the style of Spanish tapas.

      The starters were so absolutely fantastic that I was a little let down by the simplicity of my mains. This is certainly one of the best Japanese restaurants in the area. The staff are courteous and efficient and the food is more authentic than most local Japanese places.   (rummmmmmmi - See my reviews (5) - March, 2009)

      We have been to Iku Yakitori before. Having been to Japan many times, flavour and authenticity in presentation and ambience is very important to us and we have found that Iku Yakitori acheive that without the slightly higher price tag that is often associated with good Japanese dining in Australia. Dining out Japanese has special meaning for us in our relationship and marriage so it is often done as a special occasion or a goodway to reminisce about our Japan experiences. The night we dined at Iku Yakitori had special meaning and we were not let down.   (J and S Mehegan - April, 2008)
