We have had nothing but excellent experiences from Il Sogno. We held our daughter's 21st there and August 2011 and the service was brilliant, food brilliant, nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended for functions. Prices are very reasonable. I simply cannot understand the bad reviews. My only gripe is that the toilet is out the back down a rickety staircase. Had dinner there with friends in September and we were all extrememly happy with our meals, also were very full, no idea what people are talking about with complaints about the size of the servings! Going back again for our anniversary. My advice is if you want a lovely dinner at a reasonable price this is the place. And they have special soundproofing panels in the roof so its about the only restaurant I have been to where I can actually hear what people are saying!

First time I went to Il Sogno it was brilliant, however the second time I ordered the special "Pork Bellys" and although very nice, the portion size was embarrasingly small. I will not go back and neither will our guests who were equally disappointed.

Delicious food - my pasta was homemade and the soup was amazing. Service was a touch inconsistent, but not too bad. Noise level was a problem - we found it hard to hear ourselves. But I will be returning very soon as the food is so good! A real find.

Highly recommended! We had the mussels in tomato broth, which was just perfect to share for 2, followed by the duck done in 2 methods and the spaghettini marinara for mains. The servings were just right enough to leave room for the orange panna cotta and the semifreddo. Very accommodating venue (they made room for our pram) and fantastic customer service. Will definitely return!

Just went there tonight, This was not normal , it was AMAZING. Had the mussels to start of with then had The Duck done in two ways, the breast was pan seared and the leg was done in confit. This was Sensational!!! Serving were quite generous. great value, i will be back very soon.

i went there the other night and i will tell you that it was not what was stated in the other reviews. this restaurant makes it own pasta everyday and it is to die for, i had the wild mushroom pappadelle for my entrée. for my main i had the Black Angus which melted in my mouth . then i had the pannacotta for desert. OMG. seems here that all produce sourced to create high quality yet affordable meals that have that combination of of old fashioned, home style food with a modern twist. the staff were good and helpful, and the serves were generous like you would expect from Italian Restaurant. i will be going back!

Great night, had one of the best dishes ever. Having recently been to Italy I can honestly say that the marinara was the best I've had, the pasta was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing. The staff were great, really friendly and the service was fast. At last a genuine family-run Italian restaurant...
