Overall 1.5 - Food 1, Ambience 3, Value 1, Service 1

While we waited 45 minutes for our breakfast to arrive we enjoyed our drinks... a very cold cappuccino and a banana smoothie made up of a very strong banana syrup and a dash of milk. Following these disappointments our meals arrive where the bacon was burnt and the eggs under cooked. While in the middle of eating our meals the waiter arrived to ask us if we would like to bill? This service was terrible and an overall improvement is much needed.   (Kate - See my reviews (2) - April, 2008)

we chose the bistro for a quick dinner before a movie at the cinema next door. we received no apology for a mistake with our drinks order. the duck was sickeningly sweet and the cheese on the pizza hard and cruchy as though it had been microwaved. also, the public holiday surcharge was 2.5% more than the 4 or 5 other restaurants we had eaten at in Brisbane over the long weekend. thoroughly unimpressed with the food and service. especially at the price we paid.   (long weekend in brisbane - March, 2008)

Overall 4.8 - Food 5, Ambience 5, Value 5, Service 4

As a business lunch for 6 people this was not a great success. Three had barramundi which was dry and tough. One had the open seafood lasagne where the seafood was stewed and tasteless. The one compliment related to the lamb rack. Service was less than attentive.   (January, 2008)

Overall 7.5 - Food 9, Ambience 7, Value 8, Service 6

As it was New Year's Eve, the service was a bit slow but I have been then on a number of ocassions and it has been much better. The food was beautiful and the servings were generous without being too much. Will be back again.   (January, 2008)

"...It's a relaxed yet vibrant place, and with its combination of good food, quality staff and appealing atmosphere, it's easy to understand why it's so popular."

Anooska Tucker-Evans, Sunday Mail - March 2008
"This cosmopolitan bistro serves modern cuisine with an international skew..."

Kylie Lang, Brisbane News and Dining Out Guide 2007 - August 2007
"A seat at one of the shaded outdoor tables offers a perfect view of this busy eating-shopping sector of the Valley, while inside, the long communal tables are ideal for groups. Chef Ben Weatherhead, who has also worked at Isis and Michael's, adds an Asian influence to local produce like Bangalow pork and the fish of the day."

Kylie Lang, Brisbane News Dining Out Guide 2006 - September 2006
"You could not choose a better place for watching the crowds of people at the James St precinct than this busy bistro. The service here is usually friendly and quick and the food is casual including risotto balls... It's well-prepared food that leans towards the lighter side."

Madeline Healy, The Courier-Mail Good Life Restaurant Guide 2006 - January 2006
