I would love to actually say how I found the food at this restaurant - but truth is I did not even get to taste it. After getting all dressed up for a special night out, we waited over 1.5 hours for our food to come (and we only ordered volcano roll and a grilled tuna dish). Not able to wait any longer, we paid for our drinks (which despite the long wait, and terrible experience we had, were made to even pay for water) and headed home. What a disappointment - a night out for a special occasion with my husband and we couldn't even get a meal. Not something you would expect from a restaurant charging such exuberant prices.   (emma - March, 2010)

My partner and I decided to go to Kobe Jones King St Wharf for our anniversary as we had heard good reviews about the food.

No doubt the food was sensational however the service was a disgrace.

First of all we had selected the “Perfect For Two” from the suggested menu. When our food arrived we had to ask multiple times of what was being served including the matching beverage. It was obvious they themselves did not know and eventually had to give us the menu to decipher the meal ourselves. Our waitress took my partners plate while she was still eating and we both looked at each other with shock.

To top it off after paying the bill the same waitress chased us outside the restaurant accusing us of not having paid. We showed our receipt and a passer-by (claiming he worked at the restaurant) interrupted and rudely kept telling us to go inside. The waitress did not even acknowledge the man and just took note of the receipt and bluntly said ‘fine’ and walked back in without apologising. It wasn’t until the bar man came out and informed us that the passer-by was not an employee of Kobe Jones. After a few minutes of confusion he took note our receipt and eventually apologised. A few hours later we discovered that our credit card was charged twice without our authority.

This is unacceptable service for a ‘fine dining’ restaurant. It’s a shame the food could not be complimented by the service. I would not recommend or return to this restaurant.   (Joy - February, 2010)

The views here is excellent as we got a window seat and the good weather, the sushi was devine and portions were good. The tea and coffee was average for the price charged and the wait was long for some reason. Will be back on the Entertainment card as the value factor was not the best.   (Pang - See my reviews (3) - January, 2009)
