Kublai Khan Mongolian Barbeque Restaurant is a respected family business that has been in operation since 1989. Its main focus is the concept of a highly unique and traditional style of food, the Victory Feast.

The Victory Feast is a distinctive banquet style hot smorgasbord with attractions such as the Conquers Grill, Giant Chopsticks and Refrigerated Cabinets. The Victory Feast was founded in the period of the almighty Mongolian warrior Kublai Khan. In the middle of the 13th century, Kublai Khan the grandson of Genghis Khan, became the ruler of the empire in 1260, seized the Great Wall of China and became the emperor of the Yang Dynasty with the assistance of Nicola Polo, a Venetian merchant equivalent to today’s entrepreneurs.

"We love coming here! It's a very unique experience, as you choose your own meats, vegies and sauces and the chef cooks it on a giant hotplate in front of you. So you can mix up what you select each time, and go back as many times as you like. Lots of fun!"

"I love the Kublai Khan. The food is terrific, especially the fact that you are able to create your own sauces to mix with the stir fry. You can choose wether you want an extra mild, mild, spicey or hot option, or mix the many different cooking sauces together to create your own taste. I enjoy watching my food being cooked on the big stone hot plate, the guys that do it are extremely talented.." more reviews

I enjoy watching my food being cooked on the big stone hot plate, the guys that do it are extremely talented and agile.

The food it's self if brilliant, so tasty, and it always arrives hot of course. After your meat selections and vegies have been stir fried you can choose noodles or fried rice to accompany your dish.

The fried icecream is a delicious dessert, the best that I've ever had. My two best friends and I spend our special occasions like Anniversarys, Birthdays and Get togethers at this brilliant eatery. I highly reccomend it!   (See my reviews (2) - October, 2008)

This place is by far the best restaurant in Adelaide, the food is fantastic, service is second to none, atmosphere is traditional and for the family. As the food is frozen when you put it on your plate so there is no cross contamination as a previous review may have suggested. Me and my partner go there about once a week its fantastic!!!!   (September, 2008)

Great service! Food came out quickly (had the entree, bbq and dessert). Always great tasting food, have been here twice now. Definitely worth trying to see for yourself. I recommend paying the little extra for the entree and dessert, makes the dining experience much more interesting and enjoyable. Thanks once again!   (Emma, SA - See my reviews (2) - August, 2008)

A very interesting dining experience - would recommend it to everyone! My only complaint would be that the bowl you put the frozen raw meat in is then used again as the serving bowl for the food once it is cooked on the barbeque (cross-contamination?). Otherwise the restaurant was wonderful and we will be dining there again.   (November, 2007)

Overall 7.3 - Food 8, Ambience 7, Value 7, Service 7

The restaurant offers an interesting concept - choosing your own ingredients and having it cooked on an authentic BBQ right in front of you and gives the food an interesting and distinctive flavour. The service is quite good and the food is value for money as you may have as many helping of food as you wish. However, the restaurant is rather small and cramped.   (Ryan - See my reviews (21) - January, 2007)

This is a really fun restaurant - choose your own stir-fry ingredients and they'll cook it up for you. It's great if you have picky eaters in your group!   (diamonds - December, 2006)

"It is fun, it is a feast, and you can return to try different combinations. Prices are discounted for children..."
