"Our worst ever hopsitality experience! Extremely poor food, waited for 1 1/2 hours for mains, when they arrived were stone cold. Strangely, our accommodation recommended this establishment, needless to say we wont be returning there either!"

"We arrived at 5.30pm on a Tuesday and were the only table there. We ordered one entree and asked for the dessert to be brought out straight after the entree for my partner. I had one main and a glass of wine. The roasted vegetable tagine was so full of oil that there was pools of it floating at the bottom of the dish. This meal and the entree took one hour to come out. Dessert took another 40min.." more reviews

We arrived at 5.30pm on a Tuesday and were the only table there. We ordered one entree and asked for the dessert to be brought out straight after the entree for my partner. I had one main and a glass of wine. The roasted vegetable tagine was so full of oil that there was pools of it floating at the bottom of the dish. This meal and the entree took one hour to come out. Dessert took another 40mins to come out. When I queried as to why the dessert wasn't brought out after the entree as requested, the waitress became quite indignant and stated that that's the way they do things here. Before she left I asked for the bill which also failed to be brought to our table. As I paid the bill the waitress even made a smart remark hoping that the dessert was worth the wait! 2 hours and $75 later it was an experience I will not be repeating!   (Sunny D - See my reviews (4) - October, 2008)

Entrance to the restaurant was via steep stairs. My opinion was there were far too many tables for the space given. Extra space was apportioned via 3 tables set onto a 'balcony'. Very Lygon st Carlton like. Waitresses were very efficient and pleasant and knew the menu well. The menu was different from most other restaurants we have visited, offering pork with sweet red cabbage and fillet of king fish with salsa to name but a few. Food was tasty, the fish a little dry and would have been better served with a jus of some kind.

If you are looking for intimate dining, this is not the place for that.

Prices were above what we had envisaged for the location and quality of this restaurant.

the restaurant has a meditteranean feel and menu but Would perhaps be better if it decided one type of meditteranean cuisine instead.

If you want to get down those stairs at the end of your meal with your dignity intact do not consume more than 1 bottle of wine between you.   (October, 2008)

We were there in the winter & ordered both mussels & calamari as enrees & shared a paella for a main course & all were cooked to perfection. The service was also friendly & informative. The best meal we have been served for a long time. David & Jill   (June, 2008)
