It has been a while since we dined here however the food is spledid, the service is wondefull and the staff have a grest sense of humor, it was a lovely experiance (Billy and Jac - October, 2008)

This was our first time at La Chaumiere and we had the most wonderful time. As a couple of "Brits abroad" the minute you walk into the restaurant you feel like you could be anywhere in Europe. The ambience was lovely, the service was excellent and the food was some of the best that I've had in Darwin.
There was no rush to get you out of the door, just a relaxed feel with just the right amount of rest in between courses.
I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves wonderful food, excellent service and an escape from the usual essence of Darwin. The food is a little more expensive than your average Darwin restaurant but it's worth every cent! (August, 2008)

After some very average dining experiences in Darwin, La Chaumiere was a culinary oasis. Service, ambience and food divine. Pate and duck to die for - YUM! (cousos - March, 2008)

I have been going to La Chaumiere for over 25 years and the same chef and waitress have given me some of the most enjoyable culinary experiences of my life. Darwins most reliable quality restaurant, and best kept secret. (December, 2007)

A wonderful experience in seperb French dinning. The food a delight and so so french. The staff wondeful and friendly. Set in a house has a very provincal feel surrounded by lush foliage just off the city center. A must for any foodie either local or visiting. (Lyn - October, 2007)

Have lived here for 10 years and have never found a better restaurants to be in. They have the best food and wine anyone could die for... please go and try it, if you love well presented food with wines to embrace ( and a hostess to actually talk to you and remeber you! )then go and see for yourself what all Territorians know... I hope the owners never leave this piece of French paradise they will be sadly missed! We have been many times and will keep going back. Thank you for the experience. (Helen - See my reviews (2)

Le Chaumiere has been around Darwin for many years with much the same staff. It is outstanding French cuisine and has a very good win list. Nicely set up in an old Darwin home and centrally located but off the main strip. (Top Class French Fare - See my reviews (2)
